Stopped overnight during a return trip from a NM & Colorado mountain trip. It is a nice, clean, & well-manicured little city park on the edge of town that was very easy to find. Its basically a gravel parking lot with electric pedestal hook-ups (30 & 50 amp), but its free! There were many pedestal electric hook-ups (only - no water/sewer). The place was packed with RVs @ 7:30 pm on a Wednesday night, but there were 3 pedestal sites left. It was a peaceful night's stay. Perfect for travelers. There was a train yard next door, & one train stopped at around 10pm that shook the ground & blew a loud horn upon leaving, but that was the only train through all night. There is a playground, dog park, & restrooms by the playground. We didn't use the restroom, so can't comment. Also, we didn't see any sewer dump station or water access (though we could have missed it). There is also a tent field in back, but no one was camped there last night. Also note that the tent area is furthest from the bathrooms. - All totally worth it for FREE! Would even be worth a small fee. We wanted to leave a donation, but could not find an obvious donation box (like was very apparent in Muleshoe)

Denver to Dallas along Hwy 87 you will find a nice RV overnight stop for 24 hours - FREE .It has a beautiful green people park, fenced dog run, and approximately 50 pull-thru parking spots with electricity available to run your A/C. City police patrol the park and it is quiet, well lit, and safe. The BNSF rail yard is nearby and they do blast the horn but this is on an infrequent schedule. (So what, the overnight and electricity is free, I'm tired, and I never heard the horn once I laid down). Thank you Dumas, TX for providing a great place to get food, get rested, and get back on the road the next morning.

We stayed here in a 27 ft. bumper pull. What a great find and completely free! There are 10 RV sites with both 30 & 50 AMP service. Water and dump are on site and also free. First come first serve but we pulled in at about 9 PM and the place was only about half full. My kids give the playground a thumbs up. There city also provides 2 tent sites with fire rings and a dog park at this location. One down side, you are camped about 100 feet from active railroad tracks but it wasn't too bad. We all still got a full night's sleep.

This is a city park that has electrical hookups for free. No longer has a dump station or water station that I could find, although there was a place that I could tell used to have both. Easy to find a spot for the day I was there and the site I chose fit my 40'rig with 14'trailer and a prius. Gravel level sites, electrical was good and fairly easy to maneuver my rig and trailer around. When I showed up at around 5ish there was only 3 other rigs, but by end of the night there was 8 total including us. Only supposed to stay 1 night, but there was a few that looked like they had been there awhile, and also had some people sleeping out of cars in the park too. Seemed safe and people that I encountered were friendly. There is a train that goes through multiple times at various times of the night according to my wife, but it never woke me up. Livestock smell in the morning, but never smelled it at night so wind must have switched. Overall its a great place to stay 1 night for free, which is the intent and I cannot thank the city of Dumas enough for offering this service...

We normally spend nights while on the road in Walmart RV friendly parking lots. However, during the recent arctic blast we chose this option in order to electrical hookup to keep up with the abnormally low temps. We were encouraged by the reviews of this place and the benevolence of the city in providing this for overnight stays. We were even cool with leaving a generous donation until we experienced the horrors. The entire park is littered with dog feces and at least two of the full time residents let their dogs roam free off leash constantly with constant barking by dogs in nearly ever coach/trailer as we walked out dog thru the park. One of the bathroom doors does not close and stays halfway open, in the other bathroom the toilet water line was frozen solid, couldn't flush but the sink water ran freely. To top it all off, we picked up a screw in the sidewall of our left front tire. Not a pleasant...
