Once you park on the North Beach Parking lot. You can go for a nice long walk along the sandy white beach. Heading north along the shore lime you will see many types of shore birds, trees and lagoons to your right side. If you walk North along the shore; you will be walking for several miles. Bring water, beach towels, comfortable walking shoes, plenty of sunscreen. It can be narrow and you must walk into scrub trees or get up to your ankles with water. Low tide, not so much. Most people don't make it to the North end of Honey moon island. Other folks, and families may just decide not to walk so far, and set up a beach spot to read, sun tan, listen to music, go for a cooling swim, watch people fish or fish themselves. Read moreReally a nice place to launch your jet ski, kayak, or small sailboat. There is a little place on the causeway that rents out paddle boards and sailboats if you don't have your own, and its just a few minutes across the pass to Caladesi Island, which is one of the area's main attractions and which is not accessible by car.
I see people swimming here but don't see the attraction. The sea bottom is very silty and you can sink into the mud up to your ankles in a matter of moments.
For boat launching, high tide is much nicer than low, as you avoid a lot of the mud that way. We don't usually launch from here...
