Wonderful place!! Interactive hands-on kids area that is outstanding. The whole theme of it changes a couple of times a year. Kids of all ages will love it. Galleries of beautiful art. All types of art classes for teens and adults. They are offered weekly for a chunk of time as well as single day classes. My kids and I have experienced many and all have been outstanding - pottery, cooking, jewelry, all types of art. The space where cooking classes are taught looks like the kitchens you see on TV with multiple stations and an instructor in the middle. Excellent teachers. Summer camps are the best around and fill up fast. All their teachers and staff are so knowledgeable and personable. They do a great job of school field trips and have a pottery bus that can booked by schools for students to learn to use a pottery wheel. It goes to the school and is fitted with many pottery wheels. Special events are always well done and fun for all ages. They do wonderful things for kids, teens and young adults with disabilities I absolutely love this place. The community is so fortunate to...
Read moreI'm now a snowbird and have never been artistic or joined anything. I came to Dunedin to recover from a severe heart issue. My Aunt dragged me over to DFAC to get me out doing something. From the very first person there I spoke with I have had nothing but positive interactions. I am from the Adirondack Mountains of NYS and have lived in the woods my whole life. I run a campground and do all the work to maintain it. My aunt knew I collected knives and made handles. She saw they had a bladesmith class and I stepped out if my safety zone and agreed to sign up. The bladesmith Ken Straight is amazing! He saw my passion for knives and went the extra mile for me. I've since made two knives with him. Best expirence of my life! I also have met Bill Coleman from the metal arts shop. He to is an amazing man with a passion for metal. He exudes great passion for what he teaches and does there. These people all are remarkable to work with. I'll be back! I highly...
Read moreThis museum and art center is one of the crowning gems of the county. I feel so lucky to live near here and be able to participate in DFAC classes and events. The galleries are beautiful and well curated, the classes are varied and enriching, the studios are spacious and well equipped, and the programs are fun and a true benefit to the community. I feel like there is truly something here for everyone. Clay, cooking, art therapy, painting, and wearable art are just a few of the many subject areas you can explore here. Children, teens, adults, and seniors of all abilities and walks of life can find a class or event they will enjoy engaging in. If you haven’t visited I definitely recommend taking a look at their galleries and programs. This really is a beautiful place to spend...
