This is a great little museum about the history of the town of Dupont. And yes, Dupont really is named after the Dupont Co. It takes less than an hour to walk it and read all the interesting stuff about this town. And it's free, YEA!! I didn't catch the name of the guy who was working the day I visited, but he was super friendly and helpful. When you're done with your visit, buy something from the gift store or give a small donation.

Only a few others present when we were touring it. The historian was knowledgeable and lives locally. We did a scavenger hunt and had fun finding items and learning about them. Building is bigger on the inside. Housing much more than we expected to see. Went around back and saw one of the old trains used here.

Carol, the curator, was very friendly and knowledgeable. My kids learnt a lot about the history of our town.

Fun place to spend a Wednesday! It was sunny when we went. The grounds are beautiful! The back room was like being in my Grandma's home. They even had the same wood stove she had, including the wall paper! (She loved her chickens 🐔 ) The proprietor was very knowledgeable about the history of the Nisqually Tribe and the surrounding areas as well as Dupont.(She gave us a guided tour) Husband was a big kid around the train! Best thing, IT'S FREE! Just leave a donation at the door. Take the Steilacoom DuPont...

Awesome museum. From the front / outside it looks small. But the building goes very, very deep, room after room. Everything is well tended, with excellent signage to describe what you are viewing. Did I mention the great staff person we met? Overall a very enjoyable couple hours! And to think we did not even know it was here. Come see it before the Smithsonian folks discover it and pack it off to...
