Nice spot to take the family if you can get a parking spot.
In the summertime this makes for a wonderful swimming hole. Bring your friends or take the family to a somewhat hidden gem of the area.
People will often go get tubes or inflatable blow up pool toys to take with them to the swimming hole. There is a shady side of this pond and a few places where folks will jump in. Please note this is an old quarry with rocks and debris below the surface of the water.
Trails leading around the acres are a little washed out and are not great for some segments of the population. There is a handicap parking spot with a concrete pad to allow a van ramp to deploy. Unfortunately the trails are a little rough for folks in wheelchairs.
Note: there are many no parking signs along the streets leading up to the park. Yes, you can expect tickets or get towed. :-(

Read moreThis park has a very nice trails through the woods and along the Eno River. The paths are well worn, but not well marked. We appreciated the trail map at the parking lot, it helped us decide which trail to take. The are good signs at the trail heads. We started at the parking lot on Howe Street and walked the 1.2 miles straight to the river. We will definitely return with our dog since the trails were not crowded and bikes are not allowed.
