Duke Urgent Care South — Attraction in Durham

I have to speak on my experience today 7:55PM March 18th 2025.. I came in for chest pain and constant cough of mucus. I was diagnosed with Covid months prior and wanted to ensure everything was okay. My nurse Valerie was SUCH a pleasure. Very kind, very compassionate and you can tell she cared and was concerned. But the DR TYLER GRAY LEVICK. Came in the room very frustrated. Obviously didn’t want to be there maybe cause they close at 8 and he was ready to go home. Claim he looked at my chart and asked with the most insensitive way “Why are you here”. I’ve had Doctors ask “what bring you in today- or what’s going on with you this afternoon” but it’s not what you say it’s how you say it. And he made me feel like a bother. The nurse Valerie, suggested an EKA based off my symptoms. And he tells her he don’t think it’s necessary but he will consider it. As I go on to state why I feel like I should have it and how I’m feeling. (We go back and forth about it) he tells me why will leave the room and come back when I am ready to listen. (Was not belligerent or rude more so just confused and worried!) Listen please if your reading this please advocate for yourself when your in a doctors office!! Ask questions - have them run test even if they don’t want to! I’ve been going here for years since a child! I am now 33- the nurse was very apologetic cause she witnessed some of it on behalf of him! When he brought my visit sheet and suggestions he gives me my paper tell me every checks out and he would prescribe me cough syrup. And walks out the room I lie to you not! I expressed how displeased I was and I will be looking into this. UPDATE 8:37Pm 3/18/25 he has many bad reviews accross the board for the exact same thing I’ve experienced!!! Stay away from...

Well I have used them over the yrs. Since my kids were little. I never wrote a review on them because it probably want go anywhere. I have had maybe 6 good visits out of them all. Its usually my kids who need to be seen, I just deal with that unwelcomed feeling I've gotten at times because my babies were sick. Anyway it is convenient and being a mom you want quick responses to get in and get out.

I myself came last week and they were so busy. I checked and knew it may be forever so I did leave . So now I'm back tonight about 615pm....I came back for same issue and my son hurt his foot. We both checked in,nurses were great and hekpful.....I wish I had gotten there names! At 740 we both sat in room waiting for a doctor who never came because something else came up. My son was in pain and crying and I'm coughing which was why I was back for the 2nd time ....a med tech came and move us to another room the Doc pass us over for someone with chest pain is what I was told. If was so severe call why didn't they call 911 . I left with my son after being there 21/2 hours....I said was going to Duke thospital but he just wanted to go home...ibuprophin will have to do the trick for his sprang ankle and my chronic coughing.!

Turns out when I went back my son had a broken leg and possibly a broken growth palette. I know everything is not always a smooth transition at clinics but when it comes to your children you just want them better. The team over at Duke sSports Medicine, Creekstone Rd in Durham really took care of my son on this week. They are A1 and treated and cared for him as if he were a child...

Most racist most Uncomfortable experience ever in health care !!!! Just imagine coming here paying a $50 fee (Update they want me to pay a total $103 now they are now retaliating against me for calling on them) for them to forget your there until the front desk person noticed you we’re sitting in the waiting room for almost 2 hours just for you to come back there and overhear staff the lady who took your blood pressure and weight (Rebecca horn and the pregnant lady) etc, sitting outside of the room you are in talking about you amongst each other and belittling and being sarcastic about your situation….then the doctor (the pregnant lady who laughed at you) comes in an tells you nothing wrong like “your making what’s wrong with you up” when you (me) clearly feel something isn’t right she just doesn’t wanna deal with you so you leave crying I couldn’t even finish my appointment ….then days later a “man” who says he’s the head of that place Calls you days later to tell you he won’t refund you because “I wasted their time” an he hung on me as I tried to get my words out I’m a shy person making my first appointment since I turned 21 sometimes I don’t know how to speak up for myself but I tried my best an he made me cry literally on my way to work crying after he disrespected me on that phone call early in the morning this is the result of me finding my voice an to be disrespected by the whole staff there except the front desk ppl I’m so sick!!...
