Well it is a non-profit farm. Cut them some slack. Some of the folks were very nice (older guy and lady taking horses out for a walk), some were almost resentful. Maybe it was bad timing, there was a bit of a crowd there. There is NO running water in the WC so be sure to bring your own fresh water and soap (you'll need it). There is a WC, though, mercifully, albeit proverbial hole-in-the-ground. The farm animals are cute, and not smelly (surprise!). But they are a messy bunch. They are not mean at all, given their history; although they do squabble for food, so stand back.

The 1$ food snack is great deal, buy 10 of them and go for it. Reach in, they don't bite. Although they slobber a lot. Pat them, scratch them (behind ears). Rattle your food cup, they like that.

Be sure to ask folks there what animals need feeding and what don't. These are (likely) abused discarded, so many have health issues. Certainly do not feed them junk garbage. They have enough problems.

Take your time, walk around, the donkeys are very cute (no feeding them), passive and friendly. The horses are, typically, aloof and uppity. The turtle, rabbit, guinea pigs are cute but could care less about us. The goats are the stars! And the tiny steer (Cimshe?) is super cute. Rub his back, he loves it; you know this because if you stop and walk away, he'll follow you. Beware, he's a messy guy, your hand will be brown with oily something. Did I mention bring your own soap?

Parking very well organized. Watch hours, they close early mostly. Shop inside has usual farm stuff. Donations for food cups (unless somebody is there). Call ahead if you want horse rides; they seem understaffed, typical of volunteer places. Thank them for doing a job few would/could do too. Humans have a strange relationship with animals. We love them, fear them, hate some, eat many, we adore some, and torture them (ever been to an abattoir...

My son and I LOVE Ray of Light farm. He's had several school trips as well as me taking him there myself and they're fantastic. All of the animals are loved and well cared for, and all of the staff are wonderful with children. He loves to pet and feed all the amimals, going horse back riding, doing crafts and picking out a little toy from the gift shop. I love the fact that I can help support all of the rescue efforts they do. It's a win win and everybody is happy. They have a program for kids that is very reasonably priced for all of the activities that are included in it by the name of Tiny Trotters, and they will do horseback riding lessons and birthday parties as well. We will definitely be going back there...

We had the best birthday party at this farm recently for our big six year old boy! Kids absolutely loved feeding the Guinea pigs and goats… the unicorn was a true hit and surprise for all! Walking horses was so peaceful and make for sweet group pictures. The parents had a wonderful time watching their children bond with each other and all of the animals. The party room was beautifully decorated and provided plenty of space! Staff is amazing- so friendly, up beat, well organized, communicative, and excellent with all of the children! We were very happy with our experience and all at a very reasonable price too!! Would highly recommend for any birthday party with young children 😊Many thanks!...

My husband and I and our two young kids came here to go on the Not-So-Scary Halloween Hayride and we had a great time! While you wait there are quite a few friendly animals to visit and pet, and a cute little gift shop to explore. The ride itself was a nice length and took us on a path that was set up with twinkling lights and blow up statues of different characters. There were a few sets with friendly actors that handed out candy. We especially loved the cats doing the macarena! Lol it was all very cute and the kids loved it. The staff was lovely and we had a great time. Definitely want to go again next year!

My 3-year-old daughter and I visited the farm for their Easter Egg Hunt. It was such a well-organized and fun morning! Each activity was one right after the other and we didn't have to wait for anything. The egg hunt and the wagon ride to see the Easter Bunny were the highlights for my daughter (she still cannot believe that a chicken and a bunny were driving wagons!) but the other games and activities were fun too. There were lots of animals to see, and everyone on the staff was very friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be back next Easter and probably later this spring for a pony ride!

We recently visited the farm and were delighted to see all the animals (donkeys, goats, horses, ducks, peacocks, chickens, Guinea pigs, llama, and a tortoise). The staff gave us a very informative and interesting guided tour. Even though there was light rain we were able to feed the goats outside. Our group of adults really enjoyed grooming the horses and leading them on a walk in the barn (since it was raining). The Guinea pigs were also a delight to feed close up. A lot of the animals have been rescued from bad situations so visiting is a great opportunity to support this organization.
