maybe 2 things I can say positive about this location is cleanliness, and the space. Otherwise the machines need some maintenance,.. there is one female staff member who’s there mornings , she’s not so friendly, to me anyway. She’s always wears a mask and I get it protect yourself at all cost . But she’s really dramatic with it , she came in the women’s locker room while Myself and another member were changing spaying Lysol . She sprayed right around us like in our faces, it was so strong we both were coughing. She could have waited a longer til we left out , no type of consideration.. I speak to her and greet her with smile she speaks back really shallow as if she doesn’t want to be there or be bothered . she’s very sarcastic and always keep a look as if don’t approach me !!! I asked her for some paper towels and her delivery in her response was as if she pays for them out her pocket.. she said “ these not for the guest “I smiled and asked her was she having a bad day ? She didn’t respond , I told her you always seem so bothered but have a good day and I never spoke to her again.. And I notice she’s always on her phone in the ladies locker room , maybe when I come she’s on her break 🙄 But Other staff members are very pleasant and welcoming, which makes me comfortable to be apart of .This particular staff member can definitely work on her customer service skills . And one more thing I find a little frustrating is I notice a lot of members sitting on machines while on their phones hogging up the equipment. I pay attention as I’m utilizing one machine wit the expectation to move on to the next which may be taken but the member isn’t working out ! But after 10-15 mins I approach the member and ask are they using it , they all of a sudden begin their workout 🙄🤦🏽♀️ .. but I guess this this not the only gym this happens, it’s just annoying cause some ppl aren’t confrontational or considerate. So most times I just avoid it by moving to another...
Read moreI am genuinely confused. I'm a member and have been for a while. I come here and get done what I need to get done. I don't need to interact with the staff members extensively. It's a quick "in-and-out" experience for me.
But tonight, I brought my friend with me, and she was interested in signing up for PF at this location. But first, she wanted to see what kind of equipment they have. A simple tour. Shouldn't be too difficult, right? Nope. You have to register JUST TO LOOK AROUND. Even if they know you're just here for a quick 1-2 minute walk around.
I don't need to be reminded that this is protocol. I get it, rules are rules. I just think that this is a very stupid rule. It's very anti-customer and needs to be changed ASAP. Imagine coming here, wanting a warm and welcoming experience, wanting to be treated fairly and taken seriously in the sense that you're a grown person who already deals with a lot of the bull you get thrown at you throughout the day, and all you want to do is have a look around a place you're already expressing interest in joining. And instead of encouraging your enthusiasm and assisting you in your curiosity as a POTENTIAL CUSTOMER, they're like "you have to register first." You have to buy the house before you can even see the rooms. How ridiculous.
They really do offer a CHEAP experience, because you could go to any other mainstream gym and the employees know how to speak amicably. They know how to be accommodating. And they know how to smile. But here? You get attitudes, you get employees who are extra, and you get to feel like you're just a number walking through the door rather than a valued customer. It's shameful and y'all need to do better. Why don't I go somewhere else? I shouldn't have to! This is my community gym! But look how they're treating the community 🤦🏾♂️ they don't...
Read moreABOVE AND BEYOND!! Two years ago I moved to NJ. At that time I was 90 pounds heavier and I had no friends and a few relatives nearby. When I joined Planet Fitness I did not expect to have such a wonderful experience. I found a support system in the employees and management team. They are super encouraging and motivating. I actually looked forward to working out! The entire experience is invaluable, from the moment I walk in I am greeted with smiles and friendly associates. For example, the manager Miss Dreamy greets the guest by their names and she is familiar with all of the patrons. She always has pure positive energy that I look forward to each and every time I visit. The assistant manager Edwin is always busy at work and yet he still manages to help explain how to properly use the equipment. Usually when I workout I am encouraged by the associate Tanaja to learn about the various products and offers provided by Planet Fitness. Tahiem is another gentleman who works there, his energy is contagious and he keeps visitors updated on the special events at the gym, such as my personal favorite Pizza Day! I cannot forget to mention Edriece, he always has a calm and positive spirit about himself. The trainers there are knowledgable and provide all guest with unique workout plans that helps us achieve our personal fitness goals. Today, I am in the best health I've ever been in, both mentally and physically. I am an educator and teaching can be quite draining, but I found an outlet at Planet Fitness. I have new friends and I've encouraged my family to join Planet Fitness! I love this place and I especially enjoy the team of professionals! East Orange Planet Fitness is by far the best gym I've ever committed...
