🌱 Zucchini Restaurant, A Little Slice of Flavor & Family 🌱
Every time I find myself in town, there’s one place that Rojo from Powerful Pioneers introduced me to that calls my name like a favorite poetic melody, Zucchini Restaurant. And let me tell you, they never miss a beat. This time, I was welcomed with open arms and bright smiles from Jimmy (aka James) yes, double names, double charm and the lovely Bella, who was shining on her very first day! Shout-out to Bella: you did that! Also sending love to Roger, who brought the vibes and found me a bag so my food wouldn't get wet.
From the moment I walked in, this kind of customer service you can’t teach, you just are. The food? Baby, listen it was hot, fresh, and delicious. You could taste the care in every bite, like someone’s abuela was in the back stirring pots with love and legacy. Now the cake? Mmhm, I’ll admit it gave luxury pricing, but it also gave luxury taste. Worth it. A sweet splurge to seal the deal.
But here’s what makes Zucchini my spot the love in the service. It’s the little things, the eye contact, the patience, care, the opinions shared with kindness, and the feeling like you're home, even if just for a meal. So to Jimmy James, Bella the Beautiful, and Roger thank you. You turned an ordinary day into something memorable. Until next time I’m ‘round the way, keep serving up that soul-filled flavor and golden hospitality. You’ve got a forever fan in me. 💚

Read moreMy husband and I decided to give the Zucchini Bar a try. There is a vegan place minutes from my house in Montclair but we wanted to support a black owned business. The food was very good and fresh. Now I feel they are a little on the pricey side especially for the amount served. We ordered the Zucchini pancakes and fennel hash, one platter without hash. Honestly there wasn't much hash in my platter especially for an additional $7. Next time I would just order the pancakes which were excellent. The fennel hash was great as well but maybe that was the last that was prepared. Also a word of advice. There should be a complete menu with ALL the food that you serve not just smoothies and desserts. How can you order if you are not aware of what is being offered. That's kind of the whole point. The atmosphere is cliche and earthy which is cool. Also it would be nice to be greeted when you come in. We were kind of just standing there clueless of what to order due to the lack of a complete MENU. Google reviews gave us an idea of...
Read moreI really wanted something sweet but it had to be vegan so went to this spot. I have been to the restaurant next door several times but never came here. I walked in and was served right after the person in front was done. The server explained each dessert and I was going to go with the brownie and blueberry donut. Then when I got to the counter I seen this beautifully made chocolate cake and I was sold. He told me it was a peanut butter chocolate cake and it cost $12 plus tax. Vegan food especially in this and the restaurant next door is expensive. I never paid $12 for dessert but really wanted it. The server cut a big slice so I was happy with that. He was really nice about putting the other desserts that I was going to get back. I paid with credit card and left.
When I got home I waited a bit to try it because it was cold and I prefered to have it room temperature. When I finally dug in, I was pleased. It was very good. I couldn't eat it in one sitting either. I will be back to...
