HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. DON'T SHOP HERE!!!! Let me preface this review that I understand their tools are not the best quality and their policy of a 20% restocking fee is to inhibit people from buying a tool just to use once and then return it. However, this store is ridiculous and the customer service was horrible. I bought a cement mixer because I had a couple of jobs to do and it was cheaper than renting multiple times It took me 4 hours to assemble the mixer (and I had to go to the big box store to pick up a couple of missing bolts). After pouring concrete for 1 hour for a whole day job, the gear box broke and would no longer work. Entirely unacceptable for even a cheap tool. I ended up having to rent a mixer at Menards because the job had to be done that day. When I brought it back, they told me that I would have to pay their restock fee or get another one. I told them that it was unacceptable because the mixer had broke and that I had to rent one because of their faulty tool. I told them that I didn't have a spare 4 hours to assemble another mixer when I had concrete drying. After stating my rational, she finally said that she wasn't going to charge the fee and she didn't want to discuss it any more. Then she started to berate me on their policy if I ever purchase anything there again. She stated that "next time, I'll highlight the policy on your receipt so you can see it." I told her fine, as long as their tools don't break the same day. As I was leaving, she told the lady behind me "I wish you a great day, but not to you sir." How absolutely rude can an employee be to a customer. When I worked retail, we were always told "the customer is always right". Well apparently she did not get any training in customer service (or even of being a polite human being). I'll be shopping at other stores and pay more $ for better quality and customer service. My original review was posted on 11/20/20 with a 1-star review but I am pleased to say Harbor Freight sent an email to my husbands concerns on today 11/22, wanting more information related to the incident so that they could follow up with the manager. So based on their immediate response and concerns it shows that the corporate office takes Customer service seriously. So I was very pleased to see that they found this concern as serious as the virus. Thank you Harbor Freight.
Not enforcing the mask mandate. This man walked around the entire store with no mask and no one approached him. I try to understand the mentality of not wanting to protect yourself let alone those around you. But to just be totally blatant and not even think about putting one on is just total ignorance. Until this COVID is over as uncomfortable as it may be for us to wear them I am sure it is uncomfortable to approach a customer to tell them it is a state mandate now and you can not shop here without it. But it must be done otherwise we will never get this under control. I don’t want to wear one either but I do because I am trying to protect my love ones let...

I would have given a five but I don't like that you have to pay 30 for a membership and 45 for a couple of memberships. You can buy without a membership but you won't get the discounts. If you buy a lot of tools here the membership is worth it. I feel the membership should be way cheaper or free and it does hurt their business. They are way cheaper then a lot of places on some things and carry a huge variety. All kinds of saws wrenches sockets drills generators and a ton of things that are small such as wheel casters for any project which is what I bought. They do take your info so you can have a digital receipt as well as a printed receipt. I bought a jumper box for car battery which is cheaper here then anywhere and they gave me a 90 day warranty.
