The Torklift True Frame Mounted Camper Tie Downs F2011 are high quality, heavy duty and all parts necessary for installation are included. My application is a 2007 Ford F250 extended cab with an 8 foot bed and factory installed running boards. Realizing that it may be impossible to document all possible differences between applications, there were still some instructions that were less than clear. First, the instructions list difference procedures for 1999-2007 trucks and 2008-2011 trucks. Mine is a 2007 but the instructions for the 2008-2011 trucks were needed to install the passenger side frame unit. Not a big issue if you read the instructions thoroughly. Next, the instructions aren't very extensive about using the bolt fisher wire used to fish the 1/2 x 2" bolt through the frame hole on the driver's side. Photo L in my instruction booklet shows the bolt fished through the frame but nothing is shown after that. It isn't mentioned that the bolt fisher wire may be difficult to remove from the bolt threads once the bolt has been fished into position. It can't be unscrewed from the bolt threads the same way it was installed. It can be pulled off the bolt threads which may stretch the coil on the end of the bolt fisher. But be sure to secure the bolt with pliers so that it doesn't fall back into the hole and behind the frame after the bolt fisher is removed. Also, during this bolt installation, it may be necessary to manipulate the 1/2 x 2" bolt with the star washer and plate washer in order to get them properly lined up to fit through the hole in the frame. This is the most time-consuming part of the installation because it requires a lot of trial and error manipulation in a blind space on the other side of the frame hole. Your experience may vary and you may get lucky and have everything line up correctly on the first try. Be aware that there are some brake lines and wires running inside the frame rail behind the bolt hole. Take care not to pinch or crush these with the plate washer as it is fished through the bolt hole. And finally, the instructions are unclear for disconnecting the parking brake cable on the driver's side. It may be possible to position the frame unit on the hook bracket bolts and the blind through-the-frame bolt without disconnecting the parking brake cable, but it is much more difficult to do it that way. Disconnecting the parking brake cable requires the brake to be disengaged. Then, use locking pliers (Vice Grips) to pull enough slack in the cable to allow the cable connector to be unhooked. This procedure is easier with two people; one to pull slack on the cable and the other to disconnect the connector. Once the frame unit has been installed and bolted down, the cable can be positioned in the slots/holes in the frame unit and then reconnected. Overall, the installation is fairly easy with the exceptions mentioned above. Like anything else, it will seem easier once you have done it once. There are a couple of YouTube videos that show how the installation is done but no one video shows everything. Be sure to watch as many as you can to get a more informed idea about how to do...
Read moreI ordered the (Onan A049E501 Generator Maintenance Kit For HGJAB Gas Generators) in the kit they sent only one spark plug so I called them and asked for the other one and here is what they said "I am emailing you in regards to your order 170074. Unfortunately when I spoke to Onan they said they cannot send the missing parts out to you. So what we will have to do is pick up the kit with missing pieces and I will send you a new one ASAP. I will email you once the pickup is set up. If you have any other questions please let me know Thanks and have a nice day" So Here is what I wrote back ( Please forgive me but this is dumb. Also the kit needs two fuel filters not one. When I am sent a new kit with only one fuel fitter, will I have to send the hole kit back to get the other one also? Wrong, Please look it up, just enter (service manual for the hgjab) and in service manual part 1 page 8-11 is says quote " Two Identical fuel filters are provided, one at the inlet to the pump (figure 8-11) and the other at the carburetor inlet fitting (figure 8-9). Replace both filters at the interval recommended in the owners manual, or sooner if ... So you know that also, give me a break. Now that you know the facts are you going to start selling the hole kit, or just part? What kind of bull is this? Have yourselves, send the kit to yourselves, remove the spark plug and the fuel filer that I am missing and send them to me. I went on-line to ask about the missing fuel filter and asked them this,(The 5.5 HGJAB-1038 needs Two not one 149–2341-1 Fuel Filter. Why did you not send two)? They said "These kits were made up by Onan for specific models. We looked at the service manual for the HGJAB models and it only shows 1 fuel filter. It may be that the manufacturer or someone added a fuel filter to the generator as a custom deal". So I replied to Heather on-line, Wrong, just enter (service manual for the hgjab) and under service manual part 1 page 8-11 is says quote " Two Identical fuel filters are provided, one at the inlet to the pump (figure 8-11) and the other at the carburetor inlet fitting (figure 8-9). Replace both filters at the interval recommended in the owners manual, or sooner if ..." So you know that also, give me a break. Now that you know the facts are you going to start selling the hole kit, or just part? Also my kit came with only 1 spark plug and now I am being told that I have to sent the hole kit back and you will send me a new one. What kind of bull is this? Do yourselves a favor and go around any company that will not fix mess on on-line orders fast with you the buyer have to jump thru any hoops. They forget that I am the one put out with all of the parts I need for my RV generator. Today Jamie went out of her way to make things right. Thank you Jamie and I...
Read moreI have ordered from this company a few times now. Ordering is always easy and the prices are decent. If you buy enough you usually get free shipping but it's not the fastest shipping in the world. Nevertheless you get tons of emails with the status of your order and every time it moves during shipping you get constant updates. Items arrivee and are usually well packed and there's no issues. That is, until you try to return something!
I purchased a patio mat and based on the item description as well as the recommendations on the website I was encouraged to purchase stakes to the mat as well as a carry bag for the mat. Everything arrived and when I opened the patio mat I saw that it included stakes as well a carrying bag. Why then, would I need to order these additional items? Therefore I tried to return them, no big deal right? The items were still brand new and still in the packaging. I went online and filled out their form to initiate a return. The form went through and I received an automatic email telling me that they will get ahold of me in 24 to 48 hours with a return authorization. Are you kidding me? What could possibly take 24 to 48 hours just to generate a return authorization? Nevertheless I patiently waited the two plus days but never heard anything. I called the company and got a weird voice message and left a voicemail. Again, no return call. I then called again and this time they answered and I was told that the lady that does returns (apparently there's only one?) Was in the warehouse and could they call me back? I said well I've been waiting two plus days already but I guess so. Suddenly the lady was now available to speak to me and I was told repeatedly that they are not on an automated system and that their returns take time. Okay so they take time, do they really take 3 to 4 days to get an authorization to return something? It's absurd! I am still awaiting any type of return authorization and at this point I'm about ready to give up because this is not worth the hassle for the amount of money involved.
Unfortunately I cannot recommend this company if you're unable to return things in any kind of reasonable manner. Again their prices are decent and they're shipping and notifications are kind of over-the-top, just be sure that whatever you order you know you want it and hope that it's not damaged because the return...
