This is definitely a hidden gem I just happened to find it driving through small towns taking pictures. I’m actually going back for the festival in November with the photo club. I went on a weekend it was not open so I can’t wait to go back.

Great place to spend the day during their two yearly days it's open to everyone, all other access is like a field trip. There are many buses of students there every spring.

I was worried about going since a previous review stated they're only open on Weds. Not true, they're open Thu-Sat from 9a-12p. Check the website.

The museum is quite large, but don't reply on review photos for an accurate representation, you have to see it in person. Photos don't do it justice.

Admission is $5 per person for a guided tour if you want to be able to go inside any of the buildings. If you don't want a guided tour you'll only be able to walk around the outside of the buildings.

I've been to a few museums like this, and this is the only one that didn't let us walk around at our own pace and explore both inside and outside of the buildings, so that was disappointing & the reason for 4 stars.

But the buildings were all secured with locks, so I think it might be an issue of theft/protection.

Our tour guide was very sweet, full of information on everything in the museum. The buildings were really cool to go in and kind of step back in time. The tour ran over a half hour past their closing time, but she finished the tour with us anyway.

Overall I think it's a really fun place to stop and visit, especially if you've never been to a museum like this before. Great for...

I was looking forward to having my wedding pictures taken here. I had set up an appointment with Linda for April 14th. Gave her my phone number and she said she had put me on the calender. Wedding day comes around, NO-ONE was there to let us in the park. And no-one even called me to let me know they couldn't let us in. Mind you my photographer was on a strict timeline since we only had her a short amount of time. There are many things that can ruin your wedding day and this is certainly one of them. We expected to use the historical buildings to capture beautiful photos of my wedding party. The following week I left a review on Facebook and I was contacted asking me if I wanted to reschedule.. seriously? It was my wedding day. Not senior pictures! Then Linda finally returns my phone call asking the same thing.. definitely not impressed at all. If anyone books to have pictures taken here, be sure to have a...

This place gives me LIFE! There was a lady Ms Betty that used to run it she kept that place up and looking in tip top condition. So neat to see all these old businesses and homes the way they originally would have been. Love going here every year....
