Dear Parks and Recreation, I appreciate the opportunity to know your town. However, we will be cutting our visit short and leaving today because of the issues below. This is what I posted on google reviews for camping at Irwin Park: PROS: $15/night, electric and water sites, dump station, river, playground, short walk to town. Cops patrol the site three times per night. The only highlight of the town was Not Just Popcorn, a global seller of 400+ flavored popcorns. CONS: High crime rate. Deliberately parked us next to a derelict RV, who had visitors wielding a sword and axes, cigarette smoke smell from the derelict RV, AC running 24x7. Smelled like garbage. I initially parked one space over from the derelict RV, to put some much needed space between us and the smell, the constantly running AC and the eyesore, but was told to move to the next site. We reluctantly complied. See photo. Edinburg had many neglected buildings. Neighbor said there was drug activity about 200ft from RV campsite. Had to clean up trash around our site. Many cigarette butts around the sites. No river walk. Bike path was only .1 miles...unusable. Did not really appreciate food or atmosphere of The Edinburgh Diner. It was not the "Greek Restaurant" I thought. My wife Deb hurt her foot on a sidewalk in Edinburgh because it was neglected. It had a mixture of leaves and stones, making it hard to navigate the sidewalk. Because of this, Deb overturned her ankle and initially thought we would have to see a doctor. Felt better after three days.

I take my dog here every day. He loves it! Has one of the better playgrounds you can find, which is fenced in and instead of mulch, it's all sand. The river is nearby with a boat launch. There's a walking/biking trail atop the hill and a walking trail into the woods, which leads to the river and the train bridge. Has a football field w/goalposts and soccer goals across the field, as well as a fenced in area nearest the park (which I used to train my dog and teach him off leash commands when he was a pup. Perfect place to do just that!) Three shelter houses for parties, groups, etc.. Camper/RV spots for rent. Great place to burn down and enjoy nature, while keeping an eye on your kids and/or dog and obtain a little exercise in the mix. 😂 P.S. Just wanted to add.. The "high crime rate" review, was a bit ridiculous. Edinburgh may get a bad rap, but nobody is going to bother you and there's a good chance that you'll enjoy yourself, despite the lack of entertainment. There's nothing wrong with kicking back and taking things in, instead of constantly having to be entertained. 👍

The camp hosts were friendly. We wanted to like this camp, but it's pretty awful. Right next to an industrial sector, so constant industrial noise in the background (think of the beep beep beep of forklifts backing up all night long). There is a train that runs nearby and blows it whistle regularly. There is some hiking and walking trails, but down by the river has lots of trash. Too bad because it's a cute little camp right on the river.

Great place to stay.. They are completely full for the season. They have no spots avalible at all. They are booked. You can bring the loudest fire works you want just dont set them off cause the police will be called and say its something that its not and you as well can bring everything that it says not to. Right after we arrived there we had a hoverboard stolen from us it was outside the front door bearly even shut the door and got a drink opened the door it was gone NO CAMP HOST FOUND TO TELL. They are only there when they want to be. Dont have people visit because they will be concidered your guest at all times and you are responsible for anything that they do even if your asleep or not there they are your guest. Please dont expect honesty either they lie at the office they judge without facts and people what i said at the top about them being full that is what the lady at the office told me when i went to pay which i did every two weeks but due to being responsible for someone who wasnt even my guest thats what happens. All of this is true and not just my opinion have a great stay...
