This park holds a special place in my heart. I've been walking my dog here ever since he was a puppy. It's a very friendly place, but it can be a little intimidating considering it is in old Yuma, but I've never really felt threatened here. Plus, the Sheriff department is less than half a mile away, LOL. Yes, there are a couple of vagrants here and there, but to be honest, they've been very friendly as well. The view is beautiful, especially in the evening when you can see the sunset behind the Ocean-to-Ocean Highway... Very picturesque. The city definitely takes good care of this park, and it has "poop" stations for your dogs too, which is a plus! From here, you can even walk to West Wetlands. That's what we end up doing... or we'll go around towards the Quartermaster Depot, cross the entrance, then make a left, cross the pretty, white bridge towards the train tracks, and then venture back to the parking lot under the freeway via the Hilton Garden Inn... Lovely walks. Wake up early in the morning and take either walk, it's very relaxing,...
Read moreThis was a lovely park with a little hot dog cafe that my kids were thrilled about. (Windy City Dogs ) They had hot dogs, shaved ice and soft serve ice cream. They also have a splash pad at the park which was unfortunately closed, even though it was 98 degrees (right around the time we left the park) My girls enjoyed the playground with rope climbing toys and swings. ( The play area is soft wood chips instead of sand.) There is a skate park area as well, and a large portion of the parking is shaded/covered, which is awesome. It had several grassy areas, but unfortunately, there were signs all over saying to keep off the grass. The restrooms are family restrooms. It's basically 2 large, locking stalls, each of which has a toilet and a urinal. There is one sink, which is on the outside of the restroom area, and when we were there, the soap dispenser was empty, and there was nothing available for drying our hands. Overall a fun, enjoyable park for my family, with some...
Read moreSNACK BAR!! On 1/20/25 the lady that was working at the snack bar in the evening was extremely rude! I never say anything ever but the first issue was these two young boys were in line infront of us. They looked at the menu for five seconds and the lady immediately looked at us and said “ are you guys ready” so we just ordered one slushy and my daughter try’s to hand her the chips thinking she’s going to scan them and she just flicks her hand very rude and says “ I don’t need those” ok I didn’t say anything now I seen that she filled it to the very top…no issue I know some people want their moneys worth we’re going to pay full price regardless, I’m thinking she’s just going to knock some ice off the top. NOPE she launches the slushy from the ice machine to the sink infront of everyone! I was so embarrassed. I promise I’ll never step foot in that snack bar ever again. Nice park though! Very safe a lot of kids but gets very cold in the winter with the wind so...
