Gateway Dog Park — Attraction in El Mirage

A cool area for the puppies to socialize while you pull some sick rail grinds at the excellent little skate park right next door. If you're hungry, Windy City Dogs is right there. Outstanding hot dogs and lots of other goodies for the whole clan. Right down the parking lot is the YMCA. Softball/Baseball/Soccer fields and 3 full sized basketball courts are a local center for youth sports as well as league sports. It's all happening at the Dog Park. It's actually the City of El Mirage's Civic Complex. City Hall is there as well as the headquarters for El Mirage's finest, EMPD. It does seem to me that the dog park is a fine place. The dogs i've seen there...

DO NOT go to this dog park if you own a pitbull. My wife and I tried coming here tonight for the first time with our two dogs, one of them being a pit, and we were IMMEDIATELY yelled at by three people inside the dog park. We didn’t even make it inside the gate. We couldn’t even get inside the gate due to one of the patrons physically blocking it while telling me “you have an aggressive dog.”

My wife had our 1-1/2 year old strapped to her chest. Needless to say, my dogs are more than friendly and that was evident. There needs to be some kind of regulation at the dog park. My tax dollars help fund it, and the nasty ignorant patrons have a power...

This is a cool park! You can tell everything is relatively new. The water fountain was clean and well maintained. There’s your usual large dog area and small dog area. There is a gate between the two that can be opened that links the two areas together. This is a nice park! When we arrived, and the whole time we were there, there was only one other dog that showed up... and they went to the little dog side. We waited about an hour and no other friends came out to play! So, Zero seemed sad leaving. Hopefully we will be back soon and see some...
