I really appreciate those towns along Route 66 that are investing in attracting Route 66 road trippers, and El Reno definitely falls in that category. Bring a padlock to leave on the nearby map of Oklahoma, then check out the nearby vintage gas stations (mostly repurposed) and the mural at the corner of Choctaw & Sunset.

Nice corner spot along Route 66. It has a small parking lot, a metal Oklahoma sign with locks, and an old train caboose. Great place to take a break. Is close to center of El Reno downtown.

This is a "must-see" on your travel itinerary if you pass through El Reno. Downtown has a lot of charm and if nothing else it's a good place to stop and stretch your legs. There are also some amazing diners along Route 66 for that old-school...
