This spot is seriously one of my favorite places to unwind after work. The sunset views are unreal - you get the whole SF skyline plus all the boats coming and going in the bay. Cool mix of locals fishing off the pier, people walking their dogs, and this whole community of folks living on their boats (which I lowkey dream about doing someday 😄). It's chill enough that you can actually find parking most days, unlike some other waterfront spots in the area. Perfect place to grab a coffee and just watch the ferries go by. Been coming here for years and it never gets old. Pro tip: Get here about 30 mins before sunset for the best views. The whole sky turns orange and reflects off the water - instant stress relief after a long day at the office. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for a peaceful spot away from the usual tourist crowds." How's that? Tried to keep it casual and authentic to how someone from the area might actually talk about their...
Read morePhotos of the extensive damage from the recent storms where we got hit with up to 50 mph winds. City workers are gradually coming in and chopping up the wood, turning it into wood chips and dispersing some around the park where needed. This happens every year but in my 10 years in the area I've never seen it to this extent. This is truly something else.
I saw a crow with a hurt leg limping around the other day while walking my dogs, and I'm concerned because I didn't see any of my friendly squirrel buddies, who will come up and take a snack directly from your hand. I hope they're okay! Kudos to the workers who have to deal with clearing the debris. I've never seen so many trees felled in one place over the course of just a few days. I hope nobody got hurt or got their property damaged (ie vehicles, as some of the enormous trees have fallen into the parking lots, and hopefully the boats are okay). I wonder how long it will take them to clean up...
Read moreJust another amazing and magical day in the bay. Yeah sure there's crime, homelessness, and drugs but all the many magical moments I have in the bay I wouldn't trade for the world. This place is no exception, so many cute little critters you run into make it that much more breathtaking. Saw so many amazing birds, from the super tiny to the very big. The chunky idk squirrels of some sort sitting on the rocks with their Buddha bellys to die for teheheh. The most amazing thing tho was the stingray ahhhh so cool I tried to get a pic but I was shooting a little too high hahahaha. Spent 2hrs there and didn't get to the other side for pics but I'm going...
