Cardiff State Beach — Attraction in Encinitas

I've had three great loves in my life. The first two were my cats and the third is Cardiff. When I lived here two decades ago, it was my playground. I didn't know it when I was dragged away back then, but I left my soul in those waters and for 20 years, I've dreamt about them and surfed the break in my mind. I recently returned during a work trip and while the beach has changed and Cardiff has become even more gentrified, its siren call lured me back, seducing me with its beauty as it crushed me with its forbidding, exorbitant price of admission. Nice Hike and bike location. Site is close to bathroom and showers. Has bike rack. Site is next to Cardiff Kook which means that there a blazing lights and train noise at night at the camp site. There is a gate close to the site that shortens the distance to stores across the RR tracks. The gate is closed at night Go to Go to VG donuts. It is the local must go place for donuts. Very beautiful beach. I had the opportunity to get here early before it got too busy. The beach is very clean and there wasn't much ocean debris. This is definitely a very family friendly beach which is nice but a bit of a drawback. There were a lot of kids which translates to a lot of yelling and shrieking.
