From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for a delightful lunch. The culinary journey began with the mixed organic greens salad, a symphony of fresh flavors and textures. The combination of crisp almonds, creamy bleu cheese, and the delightful cranberry vinaigrette dressing created a perfect harmony on the palate. Read morePacific Coast Grill is one of the best places to eat yummy fish and meats overlooking the Pacific Ocean. It is one of my favorite places.
The food was very yummy, we were a party of 20 people celebrating my mom’s 90th birthday and for starters we ordered the short rib empanadas that were to die for, excellent empanadas. We also started off with shrimp dumplings, house made guacamole, Dungeness crab cakes and other appetizers..
We then for dinner ordered Chili-rubbed filet mignon with mashed potatoes, surf and turf (filet mignon and lobster), Pan seared Sea-bass, Cowboy steak, Pacific Paella grilled lobster tail, Alaskan halibut, coconut crab mahi mahi, and the lobster tacos and other yummy dishes. Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. Kudos to the chefs. You have to order there truffle fries, Excellent!!!
The bar and the wine selection is great, we had wine and champagne and several cocktails that were very flavorful and very well prepared and presented. Kudos to the bar personnel.
The ambience could not be better. Overlooking the pacific beach on the 101, is always a great view and a nice breeze. The place is very comfy.
The service was impecable. Néstor and his team took care of us. Everyone was well attended.
I would like to congratulate management for having such a nice place to eat, drink and be able to have a very nice dinning experience.
Putting all this together, yummy food, great service and a comfy ambience is not easy and that’s why I wanted to give kudos to management that does an excellent job.
I highly recommend...
Read moreStopped in on a MONDAY at 4:30 hoping to ENJOY THE VIEW, some drinks, and a couple appetizers. Or, at least, that was the plan. The joint was EMPTY. Asked if we could be seated by the window or outside and were told by the hostess, NO. THAT’S FOR FULL ENTREES ONLY. Took a look on open table just to see if they were expecting a rush, NOPE. All times open, every seating option.
Ok. So, someone can sit in a table by the window or outside and order quesadillas and a water for $20 but if we want to drop more than a couple bills on drinks and other food, we have to sit at the bar. The bar, that smells like dirty dishes, is located in the back of the restaurant, behind the service counters, and where your bartender is about to make himself 12 shots of espresso for his iced coffee, that bar. Right.
We did really enjoyed listening to him bang out the espresso basket a dozen times, bang, bang, bang, the wafting dishwasher smell, sitting on the wet bar stool, in the back of an empty restaurant on a MONDAY. It was just the experience we were looking for. Thus, why we stayed for one whole drink and promptly left. Had we not valet parked, insult to injury $8, we wouldn’t have even done that.
Asked a waiter while we were there, hey man, can’t we just order a couple apps and sit outside and he said…oh no, can you imagine how many people might be here. This place would be packed. Very true dude, very true! We left to go to a different place that would let us do just that… buy drinks, eat food and ENJOY THE VIEW and indeed, it was packed, making $$$...
