In north San Diego up in Encinitas this course is on the easier side with wide open fairways that let you stay in bounds if you miss hit your drive but the greens can actually be a hit tough in an enjoyable way. Course was in great shape and they’ve got a great driving range as well as putting greens. Hardest thing on this course is to get a good tee time because they have kept pricing reasonable even though their competitors in Orange County and San Diego doubled their pricing in the pandemic, which was a pleasant surprise. For a foursome, carts, 2 pairs of Travis Matthew shorts, it was still all under $400. Great value and price for such a nice course. They even had ocean holes and sprawling views that were breathtakingly beautiful. Absolutely love this place! 5 stars

Encinitas Ranch Golf Course is a great spot for a round of golf, especially with its coastal vibe and those ocean views sneaking in on a few holes. The layout is super friendly—wide fairways give you some breathing room, but the greens make sure you stay sharp. It’s always in great shape, and the pace is nice and laid-back, perfect for enjoying the California sunshine. Plus, it’s just a fun course whether you’re out for a casual game or something more competitive.

Nice course layout and views from points. Golf carts were automatically speed limited to geofencing, corners and inclines. Disappointed at fellow golfers not filling in the divots on the fairways. Greens were the in varying conditions from fast to slow depending on water saturation.

The course is very nice. I like the way it sets up -not punitive. What I like best, however, are the people that work at Encinitas Ranch. I moved to Del Mar after 14 years in Manhattan (NYC) where I stopped playing golf because it was too much of a hassle -I was solid player as a kid. Looking to regain form I committed to play 40x in the calendar year. Much of that was at The Ranch. Angela, in the pro shop, is just terrific -warm, friendly, personable. As are her colleagues. One time I received a call on my cell, picked it up and it was the pro shop asking if I was going to make my tee time -which was right then. I explained, "It was for tomorrow." It wasn't. I made a mistake. They had every right to charge me -at least something. Unsurprisingly, they didn't. I apologized. About 30 min later I get a call from the pro shop, "Matt, your tee time tomorrow is at X:XXpm -I just had a 10am open up do you want it?" Knowing that my prior time would've allowed me to get through maybe 13 or 14 holes (winter), I was thrilled. I didn't ask for them to notify me, they just did it. With a course as busy as The Ranch and a hundred competing priorities, who does that? It was an incredible gesture. I love living in this area -it would be bizarre if you didn't, but I don't know how long I will stay here. I looked at joining The Crosby -really nice, and The Farms, but I just want to play golf and be gone. If Encinitas Ranch wasn't so solid top to bottom, limited options would've forced my hand. Anyhow, it's a great course. I play well there and the people...

The review is solely based on first impression and never stepping foot at this country club until today. Club house was nice fully stocked personnel at the check counter were great very personable. The starter well that’s a different story. Let’s just say we had a Karen come out . Now I get what we did wrong but the way I was treated was like a killed Karen’s cat. When someone tells you to not talk to them as there child and your response is well if you would t have done that maybe I wouldn’t have to……that for me in a business aspect is unacceptable. Then to explain to us that here boss yells at her when people do what we did . Which the way Karen explained was not at all what she gets yelled at for but anyhow shows how the employees really feel. Not good for business either. Ok course great beautiful. Nice layout. For the price though non member 113….. I would have like to have seen more water refill stations. Shoe cleaners/ball cleaners. Overall just. Based on solely first impression which customer service plays a big part in my decision on a place I will never go here again!!! Best of...

My wife and I played ER on Tues., Mar. 28 and absolutely loved it! The condition of the course from tee to green was superb, the tee boxes well kept, the fairways in excellent condition (especially considering the recent rain with only a few wet ares which is to be expected), the greens were smooth and rolled just fine (as often is the case, it's hard to understand why golfers do not repair ball marks, especially on Par 3's, golfers should repair more than one as they wait for others to putt out). The elevated greens on numerous holes make the course longer than the yardage indicates, and the false fronts on a few offer real challenges. The practice area is large and the practice green replicates the greens on the course - smooth and fast. I just wish we had played ER more than once with the JC Player's Card. I can see why it has recently won a state award! Thanks for the experience! The two young guys we played with were just superb (Derrick and Elias - if you read this...
