T.J. Maxx — Attraction in Encinitas

Update:10/13/24 WOW! What an update! TJ Max revamped the men's section and loaded it with clothes! I'm super impressed! TJ Max and Marshall's is truly one of my favorite stores. I'm not wealthy at all. But there something about buying an outfit and stylin out! Plenty of cashiers. Every employee is happy at this location. Restrooms are clean. The overall store has upped there inventory. Definitely one of the cleanest locations.

Up update 5/21/22: This use to be my go to for Men's clothing shopping. One of the better places. The men section diminished. There's only one little spot for men jewelry and watches. There's 6 racks of men clothing when it use to be like 16. Hopefully they are remodeling. No more Men's shoes. Marshalls picked up the Men's shoe game a lot! I do have to admit. This store has the fancier merchandise. There's only 1 room dressing room on the men side not sure if that's foreshadowing. Still little warm in there. Fix the AC!

Update: Please fix your AC unit. It's extremely warm in here. Especially with Covid. You need proper ventilation.

This Tj max is in the heart of Escinitas. I call this a hidden Gem. Because it's not a TJ max in a main street or area. Its secretly tucked in one of the sleepy roads in Escinitas. Because of the demographic. This store has nicer variety. I was able to pick up a Michael Kors belt for 12 dollars! Take about great price! And definitely nice furniture as you see in the pictures. They just got done with the Christmas busy season and are transitioning things. I was looking for mens shirts. But was a little short because we are in winter wear. The cashiers were quick and easy. Parking definitely want to park in the back to avoid door dings. This location is a little harder to locate because it is tucked in the back. Nice variety of things here. Sometimes when you come into these stores they are deeply rummaged through. This one was cleaning. There shoe department is much smaller. They longer carry mens shoes at this location. You might find a pair here and there. But this TJ has nice furniture and rug variety. I love going to store where they greet you and ask you how are you. Call me...

I have been shopping at TJMAXX for years and absolutely love(d) this store. This was my third time in this particular store and it was for a return. I was helped by a friendly woman and then had to wait for a manager to approve (for an exended period of time). When he did come , he was the most rude manager I have ever dealt with. He said the item looked “fishy” and said it was an item from last year so it was unreturnable. I bought it in June! He was not only accusing me, he was incredibly rude, embarassing, and should be embarrassed with himself. He not only accused me of wearing the bathing suit top (it still had its tags...) he said it couldn't have been sold because it was just the top (it said top on the tag). He also said I cant return because he ‘d have to fill out a report and record my info? Since I obviously didnt wear the top, bought recently so I knew it wasnt from last yearx and was expecting store credit anyways, I insisted we did this process. He sent me to another woman to take care of it. The return took all of 30 seconds-there was no paperwork... Meanwhile he started slamming shopping carts around due to anger? Even the woman working there apogized for his behavior. I then saw him try to wipe off the stain of the bathing-suit top and put the top back on the rack for the same price! ...

The store is a "Find," but they get limited amounts, so it's hit & miss with the higher-end items. The store is jam-packed with many great choices, and I found some amazing things in the Runway section. Sadly, two recent purchases of Runway Items were the worst garbage I've ever bought. Two VINCE sweater tops, both of a fabulous, lightweight knit and styling... but they turned out to be Utter Garbage! I have NEVER had a sweater pill and look like something that was barfed up by a pet in 2 weeks. I wore it 4 times & hand washed it with Woolite. They were the worst crap you could imagine at $99.00 each. BUYER BEWARE, as Runway has NO RETURNS, once you remove the tag! Vince used to be high-end. No longer!
