Scantic River State Park, Powder Hollow Block — Attraction in Enfield

I was 13 when I started hanging around down with friends there was no parking lot, no signs it was always clean, no people going there, it was a nice relaxing area. When I was younger that Stone Wall used to be a bridge, the red building across the street used to have square dancing, the little brick building across the river used to have a wooden water wheel on the side which wasn't working then either. When I was much older my daughter and I would bring my grandkids down to the river in their stroller. On a day I wanted to relax and have peace and quiet my friend and I would go down to the river and sit on the rocks. Why should you out of state and out of town people be allowed to park all over the sides of roads making it dangerous for people that are driving by? Its not enfields fault you use the scantic river of all places as your own personal swimming pool 🤣🤣🤣. What the town needs to start doing for out of town and out of state people enact a parking fee like the beach. Not to mention the constant trash thrown all...

It's beautiful (when visitors clean up after themselves). It's very disheartening to visit and the place is covered in garbage with soiled diapers and baby wipes hidden in trees. Bless the locals for going down with bags on a daily basis during the summer months, cleaning up the area and preserving its beauty for all. It's really a shame when visitors leave it looking like the morning after...
