Amazing and beautiful hike! While I heard it's rated as being intermediate, I felt it was fairly challenging at certain points. The paths aren't all clearly marked, including what may look like paths that lead right up to the cliff's edge. There's also an astounding amount of up and downhill paths that are loose rock, and loose rock only, some of it being pretty steep. I spent quite a bit of time fearing falling in the parts that were just small (not the big rocks leading up from the paths to the caves), loose rock. I loooved the experience though. It was absolutely beautiful and a wonderful way to get a workout in. I'll go back over and over again. The only thing I would caution is not bringing small children. There are many areas that are dangerous, and one slip and your preschooler is falling off the edge and over a hundred feet down. It was a great family day for us though, and being able to cool off in each cave before moving on was a great plus.

Also, take ample water. It was only about 80° when we started, and we went through our water pretty quickly. And, just in case you don't think of it, wear good shoes with good tread and jeans (in case of...

We liked this hike. We brought our kids and went with friends. Our kids all loved it and had a blast. The 2 and 3-year-olds needed a little help when it was rocky but the 7-year-olds did great on their own and thought the caves were so cool. We followed the trail and it was a quick hike. Perfect for what we wanted that day. We needed a Nationals Park pass and were able to buy it online the day we went and print it out. There were lots of parking spaces available and we just saw a few other families on the trail. The only negative thing we experienced was a few of us hitting our heads. But I'd say it's still worth it to bring kids but I'd remind them to watch their heads when in the caves and when Climbing the ledges since the rocks hang over a little. It would also be pretty easy to slip and hurt an ankle because of...

Grand sub terrain of desert and lake. Views of spectacular surroundings. Essence of ancient ice glacier. Astounding basalt features everywhere! Possibly more ! The hike provides a much closer experience to the environment as to the adventure itself, many easy misteps if not paying attention. Calm yet not moveable rocks can alter landscape. Respect trails is ideal for any experience.. If your in Washington state. No matter where you travel, look for the hikes to be! Central Washington, north of Ephrata, south of coulee city. ! Great exo system of a low precipitation. Leaving a ever ready fungi / algae to be. This many...
