I visited the Coker Creek Welcome Center today, and am SO glad I did! My kids and I decided to take a spur of the moment trip to hike some trials and have a picnic lunch. The women at the Welcome center gave me a multitude of options of trails, showed photos of points of interest, gave me directions and were also very funny and witty. I wish I could have spent more time in their company as they were great! Plus my kids were able to buy hiking sticks. If you are stopping in the area for hiking, kayaking, picnicking or anything else, this should definitely be your first stop.

This little gem of a place is absolutely wonderful! If you are in Coker creek please show this place some support it’s hard to come across stores and welcome centers like this anymore! Bonus the little older lady that works there is so kind and helpful! She treated my kids with kindness and gave my youngest an ice pop. Loved the history here.

What nice ladies who greeted me sat the welcome center. They were so helpful and gave me perfect instructions and brochures on places for overnight stays. They offered local handmade gifts. I purchased a beautiful pottery coffee cup at such a reasonable price. I'm so glad I stopped there.

PO is a contract po, hours - 10am to 2pm, Mon-Fri, 10am to 12pm, Sat, closed Sunday Welcome Center/Gift Shop, hours - 10am to 5PM, Mon-Sat, Sunday 1pm to 5pm Nonprofit has contract on PO. The 2 part time people are underpaid by us, not the USPS but have the same responsibilities as those who are paid BY USPS. So, the gift shop supplements our post office. Most our items in GS are there on consignment and are local. Because we add 30% to what the artist wants, prices can be higher then other places. As a Welcome Center, we have information and maps of our area, the Overhill. We also have a map of Coker Creek with points of interest numbered and on the back, a description, directions with mileage. We are involved with the history and heritage off Coker Creek. Because one of the Trail of Tears paths come through Coker Creek, we are involed with the history and care of this. Because Gold was discovered in Coker Creek, we are actively involved giving out information sell equipment. We have less knowledge of the Church of God but it did have it's...

The Coker Creek Visitors Center is staffed by the most wonderful group of folks you would ever care to meet. They are all volunteers working for free to support the Center which in turn supports a post office that is located onsite and the products, arts and crafts of literally dozens of the most exceptionally talented artisans and craftsmen/craftswomen in the entire region. Please stop in and see for yourself the incredible quality of the people you'll meet and the goods they have available for purchase. Tell them that...
