We stayed 2 nights in one of the mini cabins. The staff was very nice and the cabin was clean. The beds were comfy and it was mostly what we expected. We were thinking the cabins would be a little more secluded but you are right on top of your neighbors at this city park. The primitive campers were loud but did quite down after 10. The mini cabins share a porta potty, but at least its a larger ADA compliant one. The bathhouse is very small for the number of sites they have. The women's has 3 showers and 2 toilets and the men's just has one toilet and 2 showers. I got clean, but it was not the best laid out space for sure. It would help a lot to have shelves or somewhere to place things inside and outside the shower stalls. The lake is pretty small; it will take 30 mins to make it all the way around by kayak. It is great they do kayak rentals for those who don't have their own and the price was affordable. We did hike some trails while there and it was fun but we added on an extra 5 miles or so when we took a wrong turn so having the trails clearly marked would help a lot with that. Would be a great day trip but not really a destination if you are looking for a more secluded camping adventure.

The parked appeared very run down and under used even though there was tons of people there today. The portion of the Beecham trail that goes across the dam was closed until further notice due to maintenance, the swimming area didn't look like it had been used in a very long time, a few of the trails were also closed due to a big bike race today. We kind of felt like our trip out was wasted. The Sasquatch statue is rather unique. We walked a little ways down the Fuller trail, but turned around when it was covered in water so deep we didn't want to attempt to cross in non water resistant shoes. Took a few pics and caught the trolley back into town. We will check again to see when the dam portion of the trail is open. I will say, the play area was a very nice one and looked rather new. There was tons of RV's parked and several out and about on the lake.

Really cool park with several trails and kayaks and plenty of parking and activities. We went in the cold, so none of the water activities were a good idea, but apparently still available as a family was trying to kayak, however I don't think it ended well as we saw 2 ambulances and police and a first responder headed back to the park while we went to check out Leatherwood falls. Upon headed back to the park to use the bathroom facilities they were helping them in some way. (Didn't pry) The falls and the creek feeding it are EXTREMELY clear, several feet deep in places and still clear as glass. Amazing to see. The Dam Walkway was closed down so we didn't check out the circumnavigation of the lake.

Definitely not for tent camping in the summer with the current conditions I'd be amazed if someone could tackle it for one night without an endurance factor. The management has dishwashers and outdoor garbage cans confused. The concept of leaving trash cans with rotting food and whatever, until they are full, in heat and raccoon infested areas, makes the concept a bit hard to wrap your head around. Yet the management seems to be ok with it. I do not, no matter how pretty the pictures, the price for a primitive camp site with no water, power, no easy access to the only showers in park, prohibitive in my opinion. The lake is nice to look at. Period.

Made the reservation several weeks in advance and had to change the dates twice due to weather. They completely understood and even made sure I had a camp site with trees to hang my hammock. Campsite is fantastic but only has porta pottys on tent side. The location is perfect for us wanting to ride (motorcycle roads) the area then have a nice quiet place to sleep. Our only issue is the old outdated not nice showers..... If they had new updated shower rooms this would be a 5 star. Forgot to take pictures of showers. Oh yeah prices were good too. Under 20 per night. Even bigfoot liked my motorcycle.

We had a chance to visit it in the early fall. Lake Leatherwood is a great place to spend a day near Eureka Springs. A variety of recreational opportunities can be found in this park. One of the largest hand-cut limestone dams in the nation is located here. Lake Leatherwood Park's center attraction is this 85-acre lake that has over three miles of shoreline. There are well-maintained trails for hiking and biking enthusiasts. The lake has a designated swimming area as well as other facilities like public restrooms and picnic tables. Canoe and boat rental options are also available.
