So, I built my computer a few years ago and recently wanted to upgrade the graphics and video cards along with snagging a solid state drive for faster boot times.
Their pricing for parts is pretty standard, and to install everything is pretty inexpensive. Since I had my computer in a shop I also wanted it cleaned/tuned up. They have express prices in which they guarantee only a 3 day wait, but I wasn't in a rush.
A week later I get my computer back all nice and shiny and get home, and there's a blue screen system error crash with 30 minutes of getting it all set up. I went back in and they took it in at no charge, promising to find the issue and fix it for me. Sure enough a few days later I had my computer back and it was running just fine (apparently they had received a bad cpu from their distributor).
I had a few other hardware issues and they were always friendly and helpful, even letting me run back and forth from their place to my house trying out parts to see if they worked (that was a fun time) in the end nothing worked and they happily gave my money back, sorry that they couldn't help. (New video card didn't have a vga connection and my old monitor couldn't be upgraded, but no worries had a new one on the way).
These guys are always professional and friendly and will find out what's wrong with your system and fix it for you Pronto! They aren't wizards but they definitely...
Read moreLegacy hardware needs support, and unfortunately when I asked them about something as simple as lifting driver permissions for Linux from the so to speak Linux guy, he told me to buy Windows 11 hardware, showing me he definitely doesn't use or understand Linux. Not everyone can run Windows 11 let alone Win 10, so these guys are only really useful for professional cleanings and unbricking drivers after Windows updates to then install a distro that doesn't wipe your drivers from forced updates. Looks like I have to be The Local Old Tech and Linux Guy. Wish I could make a business so locals don't have to sell their souls to Microsoft. And it seems I know more about Linux than their Linux guy, because I ended up figuring out my question myself as I do with every Linux issue just because there's a monopoly and going be a Great Hardware Waste because people caved to Microsoft and ditched perfectly good hardware; so to explain, sudo su launches the terminal as root, so all I needed to do was chmod 777 -R after that to execute files in unmounted drivers. I didn't play twenty years of janked PS2 games to go out to waste money purposefully on bloated hardware and software, so I'm used to quirks of legacy hardware. If no one uses legacy NVIDIA hardware anymore then I...
