I have wanted to try this place since I moved nearby. I decided to call in an order and pick it up on my way home. The phone rang forever. I thought I must have dialed the wrong number, so I tried again. It rang several times before someone answered and immediately put me on hold. After holding for over 10 minutes, I decided to just go there and order, thinking they must be crazy busy. When I pulled up there were only 2 cars in the parking lot and nobody ordering. I was confused. I went inside to order. The counter girl saw me and walked away. When she came back I ordered a chili burger combo w onion rings. I was surprised when she charged me $13.77 because the menu said $10.50 -- over $3 tax?? She asked me twice for a tip. For what?? Making me wait on hold? I didn't want her to ask a third time so I gave her 50 cents. Counter people should only be tipped if the go out of their way somehow, not for doing their job badly. She brought my order out to my car. When she handed it to me it felt like a bag of air and I knew I wasn't going to be happy. I went straight home, about 3 blocks. What a mistake ordering from this place!! This was the worst food I think I've ever had! The burger was tiny and barely had any chili on it. The bun was as flat as the burger patty and it was cold. The onion rings were a joke! I expected hand breaded rings for the price. I would be ashamed to serve anyone the frozen, greasy rings they gave me. The were disgusting and cold too. I managed to choke 2 down but I couldn't eat anymore. I gave the burger to my dog. My drink was pink lemonade. It was made from a powdered mix. They were never busy, yet they left me on hold for over 10 minutes Everything I ordered was disgusting. Don't bother wasting your money here. I would have felt better about burning $14 or dropping it in the street than I do about spending it here. I don't know how they stay in business. I really cannot stress strongly enough to stay away...
Read moreTook my family there today. Horrible experience. Not sure who owns Fresh Freeze these days but it's not going good. I can remember when this place was where you'd want to take people visiting the area. Not anymore. Today, the staff was obviously overwhelmed with there 10-15 guests. It was obvious that so many previous orders were messed up that it became impossible to serve new customs. The girl in front of us waited over an hour and a half for one meal. A door dash girl waited over an hour. Our small order took an hour. I've never seen so many angry customers in any establishment.
Believe me when I say that I've never taken the time to comment (pos or neg) on any resteraunt but after today's visit, we more than likely will never go back as with many others who were there later this afternoon.
I truly hope that Fresh Freeze improves soon. It's always been a special place in Eureka... at least my entire life. This is nothing personal against their crew but it was obvious that the manager (if present at all) was out of her/his depth with simple tasks such as correcting orders, communicating with customers, or even identifying him or herself to customers.
Just food for though....a simple apology goes a long way for repeat business. In the hour that we spent waiting....not one simple apology was heard. Only excuses and tires screeching as angry customers left....and then had to return for missing items or the entirely wrong order.
Ok, I'm...
Read moreOverpriced food that is standard in taste and variety (fries, hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.), But the shakes make it worthwhile. This may be a Eureka tradition, which is how it keeps going, but there are far better burger places in Eureka.
Revise: I vowed a while ago not to buy anything but shakes from this place again. I broke my vow the other day, deciding that even though the burgers were nothing special, maybe a hot dog would be worth eating. I ordered a long dog with cheese. Oddly enough, the cheese was just shredded cheddar just sprinkled on top the long dog. It was not even melted. Had I known this, I would have just ordered a plain long dog and put my own cheese on it, as I have better quality cheese at home.
I took the cheese off the dog for the most part because it was not very appetizing. I made it about three quarters through the hot dog when I found a long gray hair in it, which looked like it could have came from the person who brought the dog out to me. Splendid. Needless to say, I did not finish the dog and now will no...
