Cherry Blossom Bakery — Restaurant in Eureka

I ordered a custom birthday cake for my wife. She requested a pineapple and coconut cake. When I called the bakery, this was not on their extensive list of flavors, but the owner said it sounded like a great combination and immediately said that she would make it for us. I also asked her to design a fun unicorn design (my wife loves them!). Today, when I picked up the cake, I was amazed at the beautiful decorations. It was exactly what we were hoping for and my wife loved it. The cake itself was one of the best we have had. It was clear that everything was made from scratch with lots of care. The pineapple filling was very flavorful and we think she used fresh pineapple. The grated coconut was fresh and full of flavor. The icing was sweet but not overpowering, and the cake was soft. There were lots of options for baked goods in the case, and coffee is also available. We are looking forward to sampling more items in the future, especially the fresh bread. The location is super convenient as well, very walkable if you are near Henderson Center. We highly recommend this bakery.

We live 10 hours away and came to celebrate my mother's 89th birthday with a few of her close friends and our relatives. On our way into Eureka we stopped to pick up the carrot cake my mother had ordered. The lunch we had brought in, was very good, so we were proud to top off the day with a carrot cake from Cherry Blossom. This cake was dry, thick thick frosting that was NOT the cream cheese you think of with carrot cake, and the cake was a very bland spice cake with a few shredded carrots in it. No raisins or nuts and not moist as a normal carrot cake is suppose to be. One of our good friends and I were discussing it and she said she wished I had asked her to make the cake as she would have been happy to make it. Hers would have been so superior to this horrible excuse for a carrot cake. I was embarrassed I served it after I tasted it. My grandmother bought cakes from here for every birthday in our family and I looked forward to my birthday cake every year. My mother has lived her entire life here and I will NOT order again...

Horrible customer service. Very outdated offerings and low quality cake. The man, who was very rude, first told me they were too busy for my cake order. Even though I called previously and was told they could fill the order and was told to come down to the store to order. When I told him it was for a sheet cake in two weeks he told me I had to order within 48 hours of needing the cake and to come back closer to the date I need the cake. I told him that was inconvenient for my schedule. He then told me to call back and speak to the lady. Called the lady and she said he wouldn’t take my order for a tiered cake, I told her I had asked for a sheet cake. I tried to give her details of cake but she couldn’t understand/comprehend the simple decoration request. She refused to take my order. Called Safeway, and they understood no problem and was half the price. Probably will be a better cake too. I had a cupcake to sample and cake was dry with frozen mass...
