I love the park, this review is strictly on the pickleball courts. Lose the director and lose all of the court regulations. These are open, public courts. No one wants to go play pickleball and be told which court they can and cannot go on and have to read a book of rules posted on a chain link fence. I understand leagues come in and reserve courts, that is not the issue. We were essentially yelled at for asking another couple if they wanted to play a game and we didnt follow the rules and regulations of the court. Apparently now you have to “stack” your paddles and wait in a line to play one game. If you lose, you are stuck having to find a new court. There are now 4 courts that are “challenge” courts and 4 courts that are now “open” courts in which you have to stack your paddles and wait in line. When there is a league that comes in and reserves courts that leaves essentially no normal courts open for your friend group. When we were told we had to get off the court after the game was over we communicated that we were never told about the rules, the director then told us that he hated when people said that and i had to read the rules posted on the chainlink fence and then he told me his off duty police officer was there, insinuating that we were doing something illegal. If you want to enforce rules and regulations on public courts, start charging a membership fee and have a bigger staff and a schedule. My friends and I will unfortunately not be...
Read moreEvansville Central Park This park is avery nice green space in the middle of Evansville .It is not promoted or developed the way it should be to encourage more outdoor activity. In Evansville you will here from people who call this home and visitors .There is nothing to do here ,the nature center is a awesome place for young ones to form memories and enjoy a hike in the woods that has been allowed to maintain its growth. Within the picnic area there are covered buildings for having gatherings .The City just doesn't seem to value this Jewel to promote it as a destination and to make it a destination .There is currently a par 3 golf course which is up for debate of its future as of 11/2019.You have to the south the old site of the Roberts Stadium complex which has been turned into a lawn and a few tees sparingly placed. This would enhance the park to a destination if the it were allowed to become...
Read moreSeriously evansville, this playground was terrible. I saw a plaque dating back to 1994 and it felt like that have been the last time it was updated. Dirty, very unsafe concrete to weird blacktop to wood chips placed over concrete underneath swings. Now we r visiting from out of two and have visited 3 different parks this week. This one park, sad. The gate didn't even close to keep your kids in safely because of the steel Bae completely missing. Evansville, sad. Playgrounds are places for our children to grow and this has been completely...
