Awesome 13 mile hike, about 6.5 to pear lake then return the same way you came. Get your wilderness permit either day of or day before to camp overnight at pear or emerald lake. Do not take hump trail, was told it’s straight up and the only reason it exists is to reach the lakes in the winter when snow makes the watchtower route inaccessible. We read online the watchtower route was sketchy, but honestly it wasn’t bad at all,...

A very tough and strenuous 13 mile hike to and from pear lake as a day hike. It is definitely a beautiful lake when you get up there and beware there are marmots and mosquitoes. Of the three lakes Pear was very scenic...
