Great place to go for a day. Only a short drive East from Visalia, and you pass many great scenic turnouts along the way. Also stopping by the museum and parking there is smart to walk to close by sites. It’s the first time I’ve been here in the snow season and I must say I enjoyed it more than any other time of year. The contrast of the giant trees with the snow really made it majestic. I highly recommend A snow day here.

Such a serene location to escape to! Having visited this during the peak of Winter, it's nothing like you'll ever see and with our planet getting warmer, this beauty may not be with us forever at every available season. Give this stunning view a go! It also has the Alta Peak trail head, something I long to climb and conquer myself.

This area has lots of parking and a bathroom. It is also a shuttle stop when they are running. Didn't have a picnic myself but it is the start of the trail I did to the watchtower and then to emerald lake. Challenging yet rewarding hike . Pictures are of trail and lakes started from wolverton parking lot. Get outside its free !!!!
