Floorcraft
" you made a bet based on our information". Quote!
I suspect if you are a homeowner , go there to choose tile, and have it installed and are time flexible... You'll be very happy.
If you are a contractor or another person who needs to manage the flow of a job, employees, your time, other projects, you will pull your hair out and become infuriated from a patronizing attitude.
Imagine putting off plumbing inbaseboards...trim, kitchen appliances...etc.. Due to poor information from Floorcraft. Imagine paying your crew or personally being on hold for two weeks....frustrating.
And then receive a patronizing attitude for making the mistake of making a decision based on their information...infuriating!
You'd never put in an order here again. Me and my other two builds won't!
I received a partial tile order in 2 weeks...Good. Aug 16 the rest arrived (3 weeks) ...good, yet The August 16 th order arrived damaged. Not so good, s#it happens. People make mistakes...all,good here, I'm thinking another 3 weeks...
Sept 3 , I queried for an update. " your order " ...leaving Seattle Friday ...arriving next week ""
Perfect, I thought that's inline with the three weeks of the previous. I added a week to that to allow for a delay in my planning...( see?, I'm not unreasonable)
Here it is sept 18 th...no tile.... It's been a month.... And Floorcraft has no idea where it is. My sales person is out of the office on time off , (which they deserve) I didn't get the impression that there was a dedicated person covering for them.
I expressed my extreme dissatisfaction at them not knowing where the tile was and that I made commitments and juggled time to enable this job.
I received a patronizing text. In effect... This is Alaska and freight arrives when freight arrives. Your frustration is self created by making the mistake of juggling time for,the job based on OUR communication. " you made a bet based on our information"
You read that right...
That's an exact quote! Are you Frikking kidding me?
I've lived up,here for 60 years and am more than aware of Alaska shipping As a matter of fact, I make an effort to patronize local until I get a reason not to.
Here we have a case NOT TO!
I've found ordering your own stuff direct, paying shipping, getting a shipping tracking number, enables a better price, better planning ahead, and less frustration.
The only reason to patronize local is for customer service.....which I expected! I don't feel I have received that.
The sales person is patting themselves on the back claiming their advise was crucial for my project.
What they don't know is i received the exact same input from: Hurst hardwoods on the east coast. L&L flooring , online hardwood company.... And Dana at the northway mall home depot who with her husband install hardwood floors in the valley.
The best and better! advice for tiling I received from matanuska tile.. Here the salesman have actually been on their hands and knees installing tile for years!
The ego and self importance at Floorcraft is unjustified.

Read moreWe had our tenants move out temporarily so they could install carpet. Then the install guy was a no show, "lost somewhere in the bush". Not florcraft's fault as he was a subcontractor. However, what I am not happy about is Florcraft going almost $1000 over their quote, especially since the job took too long, started late, and the installer left all the carpet mess for us to clean up. Very unprofessional. We thought we had a verbal agreement afterwards that they would accept payment for just the original quote plus a smaller extra amount, which we paid, instead of requiring all of the extra. Now months after our house construction loan is buttoned up and gone they are coming after us for the extra. Will never do business with them again.
Edited for follow up after Florcrafts response: We have already called several times to resolve this issue. In person or on the phone they say they will resolve this, then we get "scare" letters that they will send us to collections, and they are asking for late fees on top.... bottom line, their subcontractor charged them more than they expected and they are passing the buck to us very late in the game. Their politeness in person, but scare tactics by mail is very...
Read moreWe purchased a package for four hours of professional design, and $500 towards a purchase at Florcraft. Our four hours was Laura measuring the rooms in our home (20 minutes at the house), a 20 min phone call of me prompting her for ideas, and a few emails asking for carpet samples that I selected. We were hoping for four hours with a designer, her expertise, and felt like we got nothing for our money. Home depot measured our rooms, and installed carpet in less time (needless to say at a lower price). Nothing we wanted (off the website) was in stock and everything took 6 weeks to order. The carpet samples even needed to be ordered, and somehow never showed up when Laura said they were expected. Instead of $500 off of a larger carpet project, we ended up with a overpriced rug that we didnt need, just to be...
