Just got off the phone with the brilliant, pleasant Christopher. I have a cruise in July 2024 with the whole family (grandkids treat) and my wife and I have the flexibikity to get there early so began looking at add ons. Friend suggested fly into Fairbanks and take train to Anchorage for cruise. Scoped out the route and options and called Alaska RR Corp, cold call, and was blessed to have Christopher pick up. He spent a good time as we laid out the route (and besides handling soup to nuts from departure day one to arrival day five in Anchorage he made great suggestions on the best located hotels at each end. He also picked up (my wife and I are both turning 65 before our first senior citizen trip) that we qualify for senior citizen pricing and he reminded me of AAA benefits. You can drive to Fairbanks and beyond and take your time sight seeing and stop places to take pictures...
