Absolutely stellar experience! From the moment I stepped inside, I was struck by how impeccably clean and organized the store was. It felt so welcoming and bright. What truly impressed me was the sheer variety of products they offered. Despite their size, they boasted an astonishingly large selection of Korean ingredients, snacks, and household items. I found everything from essential pantry staples to unique and hard-to-find delicacies. It was a treasure trove for anyone interested in Korean cuisine. And let's talk about their homemade kimchi and sweet bean pastries â absolutely divine! The kimchi was perfectly fermented, with just the right balance of spice and tang, and the pastries were melt-in-your-mouth delicious, a sweet and comforting treat. I could tell everything was made with care and authentic recipes. But what truly sets this place apart is the incredible kindness of the owner. They were so warm and welcoming and even gave my little one a small, thoughtful gift, which was incredibly touching. Plus, we were given a customer punch card, which is a great incentive to keep coming back! If you're looking for a fantastic spot to stock up on Korean groceries, or if you're adventurous and want to try something new, this little family-owned business is a must-visit. The friendly service, the pristine store, the huge selection, the incredible food, and the heartwarming generosity make it a solid five stars! I highly...
Read moreI can say nothing but great things about Pleasing Market. I was going to another place for my needs that was closer to me and I drove past on a regular basis, when my barber recommended Pleasing Market. I was hesitant at first, mostly because they were out of my way (because I live in West Carrollton and they are located in Fairborn), but I am so glad I made the trip. The couple than own the place are very friendly and very helpful. They usually have what ever I need, and if they do not they are ready to make recommendations for substitutions. They are not very large, but are well stocked but not so much that their stock will grow old on the shelf. Anytime I inquire about an item where the label is only in Korean (think about it, a Russian shopping for Korean food), the owners gladly translate to make sure I am purchasing the correct item. The store is very clean and well kept. I have shopped at a couple of different places in the Dayton area, not to mention in other states I have lived, and none of them compare to Pleasing Market. It is well worth driving out of my way...
Read moreThereâs a good variety in here despite it being small. Korean food is the focus here, but thereâs some Japanese and a bit of Chinese as well. The selection of seaweed was impressive, as were the various sauces and chili pastes. Thereâs a few fresh vegetables as well as a side of the store for frozen goods ranging from noodles to squid to dumplings. They have a few side dishes near the front and you can get lunch to go if you want. The person behind the counter was friendly and asked if I needed help finding anything, which wasnât needed today but could be helpful when looking for unfamiliar ingredients, especially with foreign packaging. It was good all around and Iâll be sure...
