My toddler granddaughter participated in the public swim lessons at the pool this past week. She was in the polywog group. There were 6 lifeguards with 18 kids from 3-6 years old for a 45 minute class which I was told it was an hour class. The lifeguards were very friendly with the kids. However , the kids were on different swimming levels. Some were afraid to get splashed while others could swim underwater. I think the kids should have been divided according to swim levels within the group. This way each level swimmer could focus on a different skill. There was a lot of wasted time that the kids just sat on the wall or fooled around. At times the lifeguards struggled to control them. Not much swimming skills were being addressed. Also Friday was jumping off the dive day. The kids were not forced to go on the dive but there wasn’t any swimming or activities going on with those children that weren’t ready to jump in the deep for the 45 minute class. Overall , I was disappointed . I understand that the week only cost $20 and teenage lifeguards are in charge but it could have been more organized and more...
Read moreHello, i had visited this pool sunday around 4:30 pm. Very nice looking place, but a lot of people. I feel like there should be a limit of how many people are allowed in. I was shoulder to shoulder with people in the pool. And the life guards? No. From the hour and a half i was there, i witnessed three people jump off the diving board who couldn’t make it to the ladder. The life guard was so slow getting to the: Little girl who couldn’t make it. & the two teenagers who couldn’t make it. It was the slowest reaction i’ve ever seen, and slowest swimming i’ve seen so slow the teenage boy saved HIMSELF. the other teenager got out by a by stander. I feel like 1) if you have a diving board you should have a swimming test to make sure they can swim. 2) not just hire teenagers who have a life guard certification. Look for experienced, and problem who can actually make it to the person in a timely manner. & Another note, they need to pay more attention. The one girl by the slide didn’t move two kids away from the shoot area and a lady and her daughter going down almost trampled...
Read moreWe have our reunion here every year.(we have missed the past 2 years) The pavilion is always very clean and bug free. We had no issues with flies or bees with all of the food everyone brought. It's also a tradition where a lot of us bring our fishing poles, to fish the pond right next to the pavilion. At one point, I think 3 years ago, the pond was very nice. There were rock formations in the wate where bass would hold. It was very good fishing, and an awesome place to teach another generation how to fish. However, this year, the pond underwent a complete transformation. There are no bass, no structure or rock formations. As it is a very beautiful area to walk but fishing is non existent. I would hope some thought would go back into the pond itself for fishing. Possibly restock bass, install tasteful offshore structures, post signs for "catch and release only". As this may be trivial for some, this pond has always been a big part of our family reunion, and the great experience with...
