There are so many things I love about Generations Cafe! The coffee, baristas, and atmosphere provide the best experience around. I haven't tried their tea, but they have a wide variety, and I've heard their Macha and "dirty chai" are both wonderful. The cold brew is steeped for something like 24-hours and is pretty powerful and delicious! They offer oat, almond, skim, whole, and chocolate milk options as well as a wide variety of syrups, including a couple of sugar-free. As far as the food.... They sell a few different breakfast sandwiches, but my favorite option is the avocado toast on rosemary bread. I always ask them to add roasted red peppers, and it's out of this world. The sea salt and cracked pepper really kick it up a notch! Muffins and gluten-free cookies are also brought in from local bakers, and flavors change seasonally. The cafe is spacious with many bar seats and 2-tops, a couple of 4-tops, a couple of larger tables in the back, and some cozy furniture settings. If you don't mind the noise when it's busy, it's a great place for working remotely. Every time I'm in town, this is my home office. The staff is incredibly welcoming, and they love their regulars. They also offer online ordering and loyalty points with discount rewards. On top of all of that, they decorate the walls with local art for purchase that changes throughout the year, offer a section of used books for sale (donated by the library), and offer unique items like jewelry, clay planters, and essential oils from local vendors. As much as I would love to keep this place all to myself, it's too good of a secret to keep in the quaint little town...
Read moreedited to say, I have not heard one thing back from the managers/owners. so I’m assuming the workers there are allowed to treat customers poorly. Be aware.
I ordered generations because I go here all the time and I had a gift card and I ordered a frappe on a mobile order. I didn’t even know they made frappe without coffee. It’s a coffee shop. and I told them that’s not what I thought I ordered. they were just standing there looking at me. Then started explaining what it was. I figured they’d offer to make me another one but both were extremely rude. I asked, so you’re not going make me another one? they said unfortunately no and then the one girl told me I should’ve said please…like seriously? teach your workers how to have good customer service. most of the time the workers are great there, but this girl is absolutely horrible. I’ve been coming to generations Since it was...
Read moreWe were just checking out columbiana to see what stores were in the downtown area and I love small coffee houses which we saw, and had to stop. We were greated as soon as we walked in, nice comfortable place. It was 9am and they had a nice crowd for a coffeehouse. I ordered a double espresso macchiato and the girl asked if I meant the traditional one. Thats all I needed to hear. They know their coffee. Another employee behind her was in on our conversation that started the minute she said that because I am very impressed they didnt hesitate or have to think about the drink I ordered. You order that, which is a simple drink but most places, even fancy starbucks employees, usually I have to explain what I want. So this place has real baristas and a njce environment to do, coffeehouse stuff. Ha. Read, do work, use your tablet or computer, meet friends, etc. Really...
