Unforgettable Day in Culebra – Blue Paradise Tour

My wife and I went on the Culebra Blue Paradise boat tour and had an amazing experience.

Right from the start, they let us know there was no guarantee we’d actually make it to Culebra—it depends on the ocean conditions. The ride over took about an hour, and the waves were pretty intense. Some people got seasick, so it’s good to be prepared. But thankfully, we made it!

The Island 🌴

Culebra is just stunning. The beach is like a dream—clear water, soft sand, and peaceful vibes. About 30 minutes after arriving, they served lunch and honestly, we were impressed! Way better than expected. There was a fresh salad, and you could choose between a chicken or beef burger. They also had an open bar with drinks like piña coladas and guava cocktails. I don’t drink alcohol, so I just went for the juice, and it was great. There was also a second station with soft drinks and water.

Fun in the Water 🌊

The boat anchored really close to the beach, so you could just walk off with your stuff. They had kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, floating mats, and other fun gear available. We had around three hours to enjoy everything—I wish it was longer!

I walked to the far right side of the beach to check out the old military tanks, but honestly, it’s not worth the time. It just eats up your beach time. On the left side, I went snorkeling and saw lots of small and bigger fish near the reefs. That part was my favorite!

The Way Back 🍉

Before leaving, they brought out fresh fruit, which was a nice touch. The return trip was about 45 minutes and much smoother than the ride over. I definitely recommend spending some time on the top deck—it’s beautiful and peaceful up there.

Final Thoughts ⭐

The crew was amazing—super friendly and always checking in to make sure everyone was having a good time. One of the guys was constantly collecting empty cups and offering more drinks. Really great service all around.

A few tips if you’re going: • Bring your own snorkel gear if you have it. • A reusable, sealable cup or thermos is a smart idea. That way, you can take your drink into the water without worrying about spilling or using so many plastic cups. • Don’t skip the top deck on the way back—it’s the perfect way to end the trip.

We loved it and would definitely...

I had a wonderful experience with East Island Excursions, and I’d like to take a moment to commend the entire team for their professionalism and hospitality. From the start, Jon the concierge at my hotel, went above and beyond to secure my reservation when everything appeared fully booked. He made a special call to ensure I could be accommodated, and I’m so grateful for his effort.

Transportation was seamless being picked up directly from my hotel was a great touch. The driver was prompt, courteous, and set a positive tone for the day. The boat ride to Culebra was extremely bumpy, so I appreciated the advance notice about taking Dramamine. I’m not sure I would’ve made it without it! Thankfully, the crew was attentive and genuinely concerned about the well-being of all passengers, regularly checking in to make sure we were okay.

The atmosphere onboard was lively and fun. The music selection was great, it definitely helped distract from the rocky ride. Captain José brought humor and clarity to the experience, giving clear instructions and explaining the itinerary in a way that made everyone feel comfortable and informed.

One suggestion I would offer is to expand the vegan options in the meal selection, especially given the rate of the excursion. While the food I was able to eat bean salad, bread, and fruit was fresh and tasty, it would’ve been nice to have more variety. On the other hand, the drinks were excellent. I enjoyed the refreshing piña colada.

Though I didn’t snorkel, I do recommend including more details in the waiver about how guests will get to the shore. Since the boat doesn’t fully dock, it’s important to know ahead of time that you may need to use floatation devices and that the water can be deep. For those who may not swim well, this could be intimidating. That said, I was very thankful to David and the other crew members who helped me safely reach the beach.

Overall, it was a memorable trip and I’m grateful I got to experience one of the world’s top-rated beaches. The staff made all the difference, and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend East Island Excursions to others with just a few enhancements, it would be...

I recently had the pleasure of booking a boat trip with East Island Excursions during my visit to Puerto Rico, and it turned out to be an unforgettable experience. From the outset, the team at East Island Excursions impressed me with their excellent service and thoughtful communication.

Prior to the trip, we received a timely notification a day in advance, advising us to prepare for potentially rough waves and informing us that the planned visits to multiple beaches might be limited due to weather conditions. This foresight was particularly appreciated, as it allowed those prone to seasickness to make necessary preparations. It also demonstrated East Island Excursions' commitment to prioritizing safety and ensuring an enjoyable experience for all passengers.

The staff onboard were exceptional—friendly, approachable, and always ready to assist. Although I regret not remembering the name of the first island we visited, its beauty was truly mesmerizing. The snorkeling experience there is a must, with a diverse array of marine life that will captivate enthusiasts. I encountered various types of tangs, wrasses, box fishes, and even spotted some delicate feather dusters when inspecting the underwater world up close.

Our second stop, the island of Culebra, offered another fantastic beach experience. The beach was calm and perfect for families with kids. For those seeking unique photo opportunities, the presence of breached Sherman tanks scattered across the beach added an intriguing historical touch. It's worth noting, however, to exercise caution around the tanks, as the metal can be sharp.

In summary, my East Island Excursions experience was nothing short of great. The combination of thoughtful communication, friendly staff, breathtaking scenery, and the opportunity for underwater exploration made this trip truly memorable. I would not hesitate to embark on this adventure again in the future and highly recommend East Island Excursions to anyone looking for an exceptional island-hopping experience in...
