I’m giving 2 stars because our actual stay at the hotel was nice enough, and we had a good time by the pool and the beach the day after our wedding, but I cannot rate our experience with the Seacrest favorably. Throughout our wedding planning process, they were our hardest vendor to work with (this is the only negative review I’m writing for our whole wedding) and I can honestly say I never though I’d say that about a HOTEL . We signed a contract back in 2019 when we first began our wedding planning, and at the time we were told that we could contract for 10 rooms and add more if we needed. We had to postpone our event due to Covid and while they allowed us to move the room block to our new date at the same rate, they made it extremely difficult to add those rooms we were told we could add. Our contact changed at least three times while we worked with them, and no one would honor what the last had promised. We filled our contracted block quickly as expected, and because they made it so difficult to add rooms outside the contract, it got to the point where they wouldn’t let us add anyone else. As such, we had friends and family that couldn’t stay at the hotel and we had to go to another local hotel to add a block, and pay for additional transportation. It was extremely frustrating. I now realize that our mistake was not getting that promise in writing, but we never should have had to. We were lied to throughout the planning process, like being told we couldn’t do name changes on the rooms we had booked. Perhaps the worst lie we were told was that the hotel was actually overbooked for our weekend, and there was a chance some of our guests would be moved to other local hotels. This ended up not being true, but created so much unnecessary panic for us. I found out less than a week before the wedding that our initial coordinator was no longer with the hotel, via an automated email response when I sent her a question. The new coordinator assigned to me was very helpful, but unfortunately it was too little too late for our overall experience. Now for the actual weekend experience - as the bride and groom of a room block that guaranteed revenue, we would have expected to have gotten the best room in the block, but we didn’t. We had the same room with a view of the dirty AC units outside that the majority of our guests got. In the grand scheme of our weekend this really wasn’t a big deal considering we just needed a clean room with a bed, and knowing that an ocean view would have been much more expensive than the contracted room block rate we paid, but it was just another head-shaking moment we had to laugh at - because some of our guests DID have a pool or ocean front view! We had to pay to have our welcome bags handed out to guests upon check-in, which was fine, but I found out late in the night before the wedding that many of our guests did not even get the bags. This left them confused because we had put a transportation schedule in the bags, and left me scrambling to text everyone the night before my wedding to let them know what the plans were for the next day. It was frustrating that not only did the front desk not do what they were asked, but we literally paid for it to be done. Again, the experience of staying at the hotel for the weekend as a guest was fine, and the amenities were what we wanted; but our experience as the coordinators of a big block of guests was horrible, and I could not recommend them to anyone else. They’re one of the only hotels in the area so I think they get lucky booking large groups, but I would recommend other brides either book a block elsewhere, or temper yours and your guests’ expectations.
