ACE Raft Lower New River Gorge take-out — Attraction in Fayetteville

I did not atend any trips with ACE Adventure and this review is strictly for the reservation process.

I attempted to book a mountain biking half-day tour with ACE Adventure through their website. I was able to book a tour after putting in my payment information. My card was charged and I received a confirmation email. All good so far.

Then, a few hours later, I received an additional email from ACE Adventure stating that I was waitlisted for this tour because the minimum amount of people was not met. This makes sense as ACE would lose money if I were the only one on the tour. So I waited patiently for an update.

Well, now with less than 12 hours until the scheduled tour time (8:30 AM) I have not heard anything from ACE Adventures. No courtesy email informing me that the tour is cancelled officially and to not show up, no information about a refund (would be nice if they had waited to charge my card until AFTER I had a semi-confirmed spot), no communication whatsoever. Even a call or email to suggest alternative tours that are available would be nice since I am clearly interested in attending one would have been nice.

I did go to Adventures on the Gorge for ziplining and a bridge walk and, from my experience, they were more professional and things went more smoothly. I would not use ACE Adventures in the future solely for their lack of communication or care during the reservation process...

We brought about half the family down for a rafting trip. We had an oar boat with a 10 year old grandson and a raft for 6. We had the best time. We normally head to the beach this time of year but decided to try this, this year. Half the family backed out. They missed the most fun I've seen my daughters and 5 of my grandkids ever have. The guides were the best and they make the trip. Everyone that went is already talking about the next time we go, so huge success. ACE's people are the reason why. We went white water rafting in early October with ACE. We had John as our guide on the Lower New River full day trip. This was our first time ever white water rafting and it was hands down our favorite thing about our trip to New River. We were nervous about the chillier weather and water but it wasn’t nearly as cold as we were expecting. John was a great guide and we had so much fun! Food was provided for lunch on our trip and we were expecting just simple sandwiches but it was a whole bbq meal! Overall great experience and we will...
