GORGEOUS!!! I was driving through when I came across this and had to stop in to see it. Hawk's Nest is a place I learned about in my WV History class, specifically the Tower. I love that they revitalized it and turned it into a cool bathroom! The gift shop had ample options and the girl working there was very helpful. The walk to the outlook was easy and short, and the view breathtaking?! So glad I stopped to visit; another state park checked off the list!

Love this amazing spot! We try to stop here every trip through the area, and the fall colors were wonderful this time through. The walk to the overlook is easy and well maintained, and the overlook offers a wonderful view of the valley and river. Definitely worth the stop to stretch your legs, use the restroom, and visit the gift shop.

A great overlook to see trains, the river flowing by, the dam on the New river here, as well as the occasional Peregrine falcon go by, or see little lizards and garter snakes around the overlook on the shrubbery side. It is accessible to a certain point but after that stairs. Highly recommended to take some binoculars with you.
