A nice place for a family walk. Not super strenuous or anything. The sandy portions of the path may present a little bit of a challenge but most should be able to handle it. There are a couple different trail options, and you could spend a couple hours here if you wanted.
I hear the trees lining the park are very colorful and pretty in the fall, and it's nice to see them reflecting in the lake.
There was a nesting pair of Blad Eagles here, which was neat, but there were a ton of signs to be quiet in that area, etc. The inland lake is for catch and release fishing only....
   Read moreThis is a new park open to the public but it's clear that there's been restoration happening for some time. The trails that we took were all open with little to no shade but there were others available that we didn't take. There was access to the water in several places but there is no swimming or boating as of now (discussion of adding access for kayaking and canoeing somewhere on the property - I have no information on this). This park is beautiful and I look forward to spending more time and seeing how it transitions...
   Read moreYet another wonderful park to explore along the West Michigan coastline. I am very grateful that this old gravel pit is now a public park and not a series of condos around a private late.
The native landscape is coming back nicely and the man-made lake is actually really pretty even with it's unnatural shallow blue color. The park will be even prettier when the power-plant across the river is torn down.
My only complaints is that there are still a few piles of rubble leftover from the previous...
