Trillium Events — Attraction in Ferrysburg

I had my wedding here.. while it was beautiful- we had somethings happen that Made me give one star. The biggest red flag is that he brought strangers into my wedding to view my side of the venue!! There was a completely empty side of the venue that he could have taken them into. When I had contacted him about this I received a “this is my venue and I am able to show it whenever I need to” attitude. An extremely BAD way to handle that situation.

The DJ that they so “highly” recommended (so as to use their speaker system) forgot to turn everyone’s mic on during the ceremony so no one could be heard.

The food did not come out as what we had sampled. We had previously asked if guests could have seconds if there were plates that were not used- at that time he said absolutely as long as it’s during dinner hour. A few of my guests asked for seconds since we had 25+ plates not show and they were denied. YET I PAID FOR THOSE MEALS. On a day you plan over and over these things shouldn’t have been an issue. The Trillium was a perfect venue choice for our annual corporate Christmas dinner for over 200 people – it was phenomenal all the way around!!! The Trillium set a record in the number of positive comments and compliments we’ve ever received for a Christmas dinner (we've had 25 corporate Christmas dinners). I could go on and on about the delicious appetizers, plated dinners, and desserts; everything was scrumptious and beautifully presented. We received a great deal of compliments on how delicious the filet was and how perfectly it was cooked. Also, so thankful for how quickly they served the plated meals and at the right temperature as well - not an easy task with a group of over 200 guests. We also heard positive feedback that the staff was very friendly, courteous, and thoughtful. I heard that they even offered people boxes in case they’d like to take home their part of their dinners and also offered boxes to take home desserts from the buffet, which was very kind. All the staff were VERY friendly while attending to the guests at my friend's wedding. The bartender made delicious drinks, was kind, and I think his name was Jeremy. The wait staff was quick to clear plates and cups. Quick to refill water. When (I'm assuming the manager) walked around to ask if everything was okay, I asked for more napkins (we had fajitas and I'm messy) he was more than happy to grab us some more. Even when the night had ended and everyone had gone home, they were not pushy to kick us out. Most of the wedding party stayed after to the very last minute to so we could sober up before driving and they continued to bring us water when our pitcher was empty. They joked with us and seemed to genuinely be in good spirits while on the job. I was very impressed. The grounds were beautiful! Healthy, well kept grass, nice gazebo, and there is a small pond and fountain hiding on the right side of the property. All in all, fantastic place!
