Love, love this park. First the facilities - plenty of parking, big covered shelter, lots of picnic tables and grills, a flat grassy field and clean proper restrooms.
There's two beaches to explore where we spotted herons, king fishers, harlequin ducks, loons and oystercatchers. There's trails to explore and birds to admire as they sing about.
Look up in the sky and you'll spot fighter jets zipping by (or hear the loud booms on their flight).
Bring a picnic, your camera or fully charged phone (you know what to do).

Read moreThis beach is absolutely stunning. First of all, you need a deception pass to park here. From the parking lot, there are so many options in terms of trails. We ended up staying on the beach and exploring the tidal pools. It was so nice to just sit on the driftwood and take in the views. You can also go for a swim, but the water was cold when we went there. Such a great area for a picnic. I would say the tidal pools are definitely the highlight. We enjoying exploring the pools...
