The Amazing Book-Store — Attraction in Flint

By far the coolest, and most laid back Comic store in the area. Ive had a pull box there for a couple of years and have had a few books in there prob since then and they've never once complained about it and when it filled all the way to the top the only thing they asked was that "when I get a chance if I could pull a couple of the old comics that I didnt want out they would put them away for me in order to make room for new books in my cubby" In ten years of collecting comics Ive never had an owner be so cool about be late picking up holds. Ive had them sell stuff for me and they only take a very small % for themselves and they will order stuff outside of what they normally carry and wont even ask you to put any money down, they just take you at your word. The best part is they offer up to 30% off new comics Every Week if you spend at least $40 (which I do :)) if you spend less you still get 10% to 20% off you dont have to join a club for that discount costing $$$$ never seen another store do that Ever! And BTW I dont work there either I just feel that they do way to much for me and their other customers to have crap talked about them on here when they never jack up their prices on new Comicsin order to make extra money off me or anybody else no matter how much hype is...

This was the very first comic book store I ever went to when I was was kid back in 84 or 85 I think. I had just been given a copy of Swamp Thing #19 and Blue Devil #4 by my Uncle for a birthday gift and he saw how much I loved the comics so he looked in the phone book for comics and found the listing for Amazing. The next Saturday he picked me up and told me he was going to take me someplace I would love. I can't even describe the feeling of pure awe and exciting that ran thru me the moment I walked into Amazing Book Store the very first time. I've been hooked on comics ever since and I'm still going to Amazing to get my comics to this very day. I've gone on to become a published artist /inker in the comics industry having worked for Marvel, DC, Dark Horse, Image, Lionforge, IDW, Dynamite, Chaos!, Caliber, Malibu.. You name it, I've probably worked for them at some point and I feel like I owe my career to my Uncle and to Amazing Book Store for helping that spark inside me grow as a kid to want to enter this industry. Genuinely such a good store and a great guy running the place. Seriously. I came here back in April and I'm still thinking about his customer service. He was so beyond friendly and he went above and beyond. Prices were great. I called the day before because I've been collecting all of the cover variants of a niche indie title, and he said he had almost a full run and some duplicates with variants. I said great! I expected to walk in and go to the box where the "P" back issues were and grab what I needed, but nope! I walked in, he recognized me assumedly by voice or me saying I was coming in by in the morning, and pulled out a stack of all of the issues that he had in stock. He had picked them out for me and kept them sitting by, and he gave me a great deal. Such a nice guy, gave me the history of the business when I asked, and he completely brightened up a cold rainy day.
