WALKING Great park for walking because of the beautiful 1 mile long mulched loop trail around the large lake. You can extend your walk a few miles by using the connected paved walkways also along the shores of the lake. In my opinion the trees, green grass, lake, and sky all add a special peaceful beauty to this park. FISHING The lake started out as a limestone rock quarry decades ago and as a result the water quality appears good and clean. As for fishing donโt waste your time as the lake has bass but it does not seem to have very many. WATER SKIING I know nothing about water skiing but have heard its lake is a popular water skiing destination. PICNIC AREAS Picnic areas are beautiful, plentiful, and well maintained with some areas being covered and near restrooms. WOODS You can also visit the woods and nature center building in the back or North end of the park. The wooded area is nice but it does not resemble a remote mature forest. Along the West end of the wooded trail is a section where you can stand outside a fenced area and sometimes see deer inside the fenced area. The woods and trail and lake on the South side of Okeechobee Blvd are a much nicer choice for nature lovers. Itโs great for hiking or kayaking. The South side appears remote due to the fact that no one seems to know about that area. So letโs keep it out secret. I honestly didnโt want to disclose this information because I like the fact that it is so secluded and quiet and full of natural beauty. But if you read this far then I guess you deserve to know about it. DOG PARK Yes they have a dog park near the North end of the park, Im not a dog so canโt say much about it.

You must visit the nature center at this park , while there is much to do venture pass towards the back where this lovely well kept center is situated. Lots of hands on information and small sanctuary housing terrapin turtles and baby gators but itโs the plants and trails for me ๐ชป๐ป๐โ๐ซbeautiful flowers with gopher tortoises and rabbits popping out brings forth the fairy ๐ง๐ผโโ๏ธ vibes for sure. Lots of passionflowers harboring sweet fruit along with loads of beautyberries throughout as butterflies ๐ฆ encompass you. This was extremely pleasant if you love photographing plants and flowers check this place out๐

There are two sides to this park, north and south. North is an amazing facility with every park amenity you could want! Gazebos, ball parks, lakes, a golf course, boat rentals, water ski park and an amazing nature center (and more). But the quiet beauty of the south side is truly our favorite. Miles of bike and walking trails with nothing in site but nature and quiet serenity. Its truly an impressive layout of loops and lakes and swamps and trails and bluffs and lookouts. Please go!! There is also an equestrian center if you happen to need a place to bring a horse...

I love all the beautiful trees and lake front views along with the many walking and bike paths. They have one walking trail built on mulch which is much easier on your feet, ankles, and knees because it provides a type of cushion. They have a baseball field, soccer field, tennis ball courts and many pavilions for rent for BBQ/picnic events. The newest addition to Okeeheelee is their water park which is a line that pulls you on ski's and a water obstacle course, which is really fun to watch!

I had a great experience here. I came on a Sunday, and most of the pavilions were filled. We ended up finding one, but the charcoal grill was filled with water ๐. My grandpa was a fire fighter and was handy enough to think of using a stick to empty the water and using a towel that he always had laying around to dry it. As you can see, we ended up making some delicious food ๐. The people next to us had a birthday party and had soccer goals that were about half my height. Great memories ๐
