I’m going to review this as a 30year old dad with a wife and two young kids on a vacation here with 4 or so nights left. I’ve been to many resorts in Florida, Mexico, North Carolina, Vegas etc. If you’re a senior citizen, coming for a wedding, young kid etc, your expectations and views may be different. Here’s how i feel. Let’s start off with the good. The employees are friendly. The decor, aesthetics, the pool is all beautifully put together. The Alfredo pasta from room service is excellent…well…. Yes, excellent but there is a down side to that….will get to later. Anyways, beautiful place! Now let’s get to some of the flaws Upon booking it cost $2800 and said it included resort fees. Upon checking in we were charged for $3800. Everything is an additional charge, nothing but the pool and your room comes with your stay. It’s nice when you go to a resort and you can wake up early a few nights and get a complimentary meal. I would recommend making sure your room has a kitchen if you do not want to be stuck paying for the meals. Ours doesn’t even have a microwave. For breakfast lunch and dinner for 2 adults and 2 kids it is about $400 a day. For 3-$5000 a week depending on your room I think breakfast should be included. What you get was no different from the average Aloft or Holiday Inn Breakfast. So let’s move on, the room is super stuffy. It may show that it’s set at 60degrees and is holding 60degrees but i was sweating and slept with no blankets. At home i sleep with my thermostat at 68 degrees and freeze my tail off under 2 blankets. I like a room i can be cold in. The shower is good if you’re not tall i guess. I miss my shower and bathroom at home where i don’t have to bend over to get under the water or squeeze between the tight walls to comfortably take a morning OMni. Oops, i mean poop! Ocean view is beautiful. Nothing different from any other east coast beach view. The right window seems like the seal may be broke, might be why it’s stuffy in here. There was always fog in it. Hopefully they can check that out for the next person. I’m scared to ask where the complimentary water comes from, it tast like they got it from a puddle. Not just the complementary water in the lobby but also the cup at breakfast. The first day at the pool, I was in the hot tub and my kid was sitting in the chair next to me watching her tablet. A lady came up to inform me that it was a 18 and up spa. Believe she worked there or was a resident here. Either way, my kid was in the pool chair and not in the spa. I just said okay and she went on. Then I went to go into the pool with my kids. A worker or resident came up to inform me that the pool I was in is an adult only pool. I didn’t read the rules, that was my fault. So we went to the kids pool and hung out. Just felt odd to be kicked out of a pool on vacation at 9:45pm when I was the only one in it and no employees around, i was in the hotel relaxing. I had the back door open to listen to the ocean. I had ordered my daughter room service. She went to open the door and peep outside because she’s a child and impatient. I heard a boom that sounded louder than a 9mm handgun. I honestly thought something tragic happened. The suction from the back door let it swing open and then slammed it shut. She was not able to hold on. I went to look at it myself, noticed i was hardly able to keep it from slamming and I’m 6ft1 230lbs. This door is deadly. If a kid was walking through and that hit them in the head it would kill them. The fact they know of the concern and don’t add door closures to the door is very concerning. I’m going to say this is not a kid friendly place. It is more of a wedding venue than anything. We should have done more homework and that’s our fault. But in writing this in hops to help another young family looking to bring there kids on a vacation to Florida. Update, left after the first night and went to Hyatt resort and i couldn’t have been more pleased.

My family and I had high hopes for our vacation at Omni Island, but our experience was far from the idyllic getaway we anticipated. Initially, our spirits were lifted by Andrew, the manager, who promptly provided us with a room despite the system being down. Though we received a different room than booked and paid for a seven-day stay, intending only to stay six, we were content to overlook these minor inconveniences. Little did we know, the worst was yet to come. The room assigned to us, located in the Sand Castles section, was in dire need of renovation. Overlooking minor details, such as the absence of milk or sugar for the complimentary coffee, was manageable, but our last night was a nightmare. Around 11 PM, I noticed numerous bites on my arm and discovered our room was infested with mosquitoes. To my horror, I also found a spider in my son's pillow and insects in the bathroom. Desperate for a solution, we contacted the front desk, hoping for a swift and empathetic response. Unfortunately, our encounter with Kevin at the front desk was appalling. His response to our distress was marked by irony, rudeness, and sarcasm. Suggesting that the housekeeper spray our room with insecticide while we remained inside was not only an inadequate solution but also delivered in a manner that trivialized our discomfort. His demeanor was far from what one would expect from a hospitality professional. UNACCEPTABLE. Thankfully, our situation improved when we insisted on speaking to the manager. Allister, a bellman, stepped in to assist us with empathy and efficiency far surpassing that of the front desk staff. He facilitated our move to another room and continuously apologized for the ordeal we faced. Allister's exemplary service highlighted what true customer care should be, making it evident that he deserves a more prominent role within the hotel. Our experience at Omni Island was marred by distress, discomfort, and a profound disappointment in how certain staff members treated us. Despite the efforts of individuals like Allister, the overall lack of professionalism and empathy from others, particularly Kevin, casts a long shadow over our stay. For those seeking a family vacation where respect and genuine concern for guest welfare are prioritized, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. Despite its potential, Omni Island failed to meet the basic standards of hospitality and customer care, leaving us to regret our choice for what was meant to be a memorable family getaway. We paid for a ocean view- I am attaching a picture of the view I got in the end of our vacation. Unbelievable.

We just got back yesterday from a 3 day stay at the Omni. We had a certain expectation for the hotel resort, especially at around $500/night. The bathroom had black mold on the ceiling and shower curtain was stained. The faucet and shower head look like they had not been cleaned in a long time. The bed was okay, but for some reason angled down towards the head. The rest of the room was clean and fine. We called down twice one night for extra pillows (around 6pm. Never got them. Called next morning again, still didn't get them. Someone put their room service tray in the planter in front of our room and it stayed there the entire stay. The first night we were there, laying in bed watching TV and about 7pm my husband says someone is trying to get in our room. He opens it and the front desk gave someone else our room number, I saw it on their cards..thank goodness the key didn't work. The front desk did call and apologized, asked if they could do anything to make up for it. My husband said no, it was fine..which it really was, but asked for the 2 pillows I called about earlier and they said of course. Now this is maybe a bit picky, but our patio chairs didn't match...I know, not a big deal but says something. Biggest thing to me was that the front entrance where you drive your car to for check in and valet was dirty. Trash, dirt, green mold in the stairs into the reception area. In the morning we ate breakfast in the Cafe area in the main lobby section, they have quick bites...it was filthy. Carpet looked like it had not been vacuumed in days. Food all over chairs and tables, it was a bit gross. The outside hallways to the rooms were dirty and needs some refreshing or at least cleaning. That being said..staff was nice, pool area nice..but get up early, like 8am and put your towel and a few belongings in chaise loungers by the adult pool..they fill up quickly. The view from our room was lovely. Valet people were lovely. Saturday we spent about 6hrs by the pool. The rest of our trip we were out and about. explored Fernandina, the fort, rtc and ate dinner in town. Sunday we went to Cumberland Island for the day. Checked out Monday morning. I'm a bit bummed with the Omni, though we had a delightful getaway just the two of us. I expected more attention to cleanliness and appearances. I would not stay at the Omni again.

Our first visit to the resort was in April 2023 for a work retreat. We went with no expectations and were very happy with our experience. The Omni has a well-appointed lobby with an upscale beach feel and a very helpful concierge. Continue on through the lobby to the upper poolside lounge area to see meticulously manicured palms, hear relaxing fountain sounds, plenty of seating options (shaded with umbrellas and unshaded areas), several fire features, an adult and family pool and several conveniently located pool side bars offering drinks (alcoholic and nonalcoholic) as well as food. Every room has a view with a patio. The patio door provides great soundproofing for the poolside rooms. Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable. The local shrimp and lobster roll at The Oceanside Cafe is a must! Portion size is large enough for two people to share. The gulf coast oysters were fantastic as well. We enjoyed the Saltwater Gospel, Southern Peach Smash, and the Golden Hour with passion fruit Boba drinks. But the biggest hit were the poolside Miami Vice blended drinks. Ryan, our poolside waiter, went above and beyond to ensure our large group never had an empty glass and we were always hydrated. We really appreciated Ryan, he was always friendly and accommodating even though we kept him very busy! Thank you Ryan!! The only con we encountered was our shower floor was very slippery when wet. There was not any grip traction present. We placed a small hand towel down for safety. I would kindly suggest installing some type of traction material to the shower floor surface to prevent falls. The complex gives an upscale nature inspired feel. We enjoyed walking through the Sunken Fortest along the boardwalks to the ocean. It was thoughtfully planned to incorporate the trees and fauna as they naturally grew. We appreciated the walkability of the resort to the accompanying restaurants and shops in the village. The tram drivers were accommodating and friendly. And the valet gentleman always greeted us with a smile. We look forward to returning.

There are great pros but also a couple of cons: Pros: *Beautiful location and scenery *People (locals) are absolutely wonderful, kind and full of local pride and knowledge *The food EVERYWHERE we went on the resort resort was PHENOMENAL! * Kellie at the resort bar is the best to ever do it! She gets 1000000 stars! Go see her! *Resort staff is very accommodating. *The best Urgent Care experience I've ever had. They were quick, efficient, kind and got me ready for the wedding I was in town to attend. I had Tonsillitis and it was horrible! *The drivers and the company were super kind and sweet! Expensive 10 minute drive to and from the urgent care facility but their kindness made up for it. I'll post their business card below. Cons: *Room that we had was outdated and the water smelled off. I don't know if it was just on our side (Sunrise Towers, Room 403) but it was off-putting and for the price of the room I definitely would not have thought I would have experience this. Luckily I didn't spend most of my time in the room but it was not a pleasant smell or comfortable room experience. *The food, and drinks (especially if delivered to the beach) were VERY EXPENSIVE! ONE Pina Colada( regular sized) ordered on the beach and delivered in a PLASTIC CUP turned out to be almost $32 dollars! It was $22 for the drink PLUS a beach delivery tax PLUS GRATUITY! (If I can find my receipt, I'll post it). Absolutely EXPENSIVE!!! And let's not talk about the $37 BLT I ordered from room service with a Coke. Please know you will be spending A LOT of money here! A LOT! *** I wasn't able to post many pics because I took videos instead but trust me the scenery is absolutely gorgeous!!!! The pic of the marshes was from Walker's Landing where the wedding reception was held. It's also on the property.)

The view from the room was AMAZING. You can see the sunrise from the balcony. Everything was outstanding, the place, the pool, the beach, the food. As for the prices I’ll say that is expensive to eat at the resort (you’re basically paying not to drive 15 min to downtown). We had calamari and some sort of veggie baskets and two drinks (a beer and a strawberry something w alcohol) and that was $ 72 (including the tip). One thing that made me feel bad about our stay was the lack of empathy from the employees at the reception. Except for one girl who was always very sweet and attentive, the others acted as if it was a bother to be there. My husband and I went to get married at the resort (on the beach). We called before our stay to ask if we could do a beach elopement with only three people (one officiant and two photographers), and they told us, and I quote, "we try not to make that happen but nobody is going to stop you". I was very discouraged to go. but I thought that perhaps we had just had an ugly conversation with one person and that's it. Unfortunately, this behavior continued during the stay, mainly the first days where we would come to ask for details about the beach or to borrow two glasses to toast at the time of the wedding. Not only was there no comment about the fact that we were getting married, but they made faces or responded in a bad way. I have never heard a "congratulations" from them and that speaks of the lack of warmth. In short, everything was perfect, the room, the pool, the beach, all the activities you can do at the resort, everything, and I'm going back to Omni OF COURSE, but now I know that there's no differential treatment for the price I'm paying. Hope they can work on that.
