This park is beautiful, and it's well set up for family outings, picnics, parties, and the like; there are multiple gazebos and grills set up with plenty of benches and tables. The setting is absolutely beautiful. If you don't want to do the work of grilling, there's a fantastic bar/restaurant with an EXCELLENT reputation for serving the best seafood, sandwiches, and drinks.
The reason I'm giving inly 4 stars is because this park is listed in Google as a "dog park." Now, technically, I suppose it could be considered as such since dogs ARE allowed on 1 side of the park - they're not allowed on the beach side, which is understandable, but are allowed on the side with the sidewalks. However, there's no place for dogs to play, no place they can go into the water for a swim, and the walking "trail" (the sidewalk) isn't long, it took less than 10 minutes to make the entire circuit, and we were walking slow...
Still, it's a pretty spot with boat launches, picnic areas, and a lot of parking, though there does...

Read moreThis is a fun area to walkabout, catch a sunset or sit for a bit to enjoy the Gulf views and breezes. People are friendly. This park has a happy vibe 😃
The park is split by Sam's Beach Bar. The beach is on the north side. It's small but does have a sandy area. There are several pavilions with lots of picnic tables and grills. One pavilion is two story offering a 360° view of the area. There's also a small playground for little kids and public restrooms 🚻, right next to Sam's, on the north side. Signs posted say dogs (and fishing) aren't allowed on the beach, or generally the north side of the park. Fishing is allowed on the south side. I didn't notice any "no dogs" signs at the south side of the park. A number of leashed dogs were loafing about there.
There's a public boat ramp and another restroom on your left as you enter the park. $10 to park/launch a boat. Pay station is next to...
