It’s a neat little trail at the opening of Anastasia State Park. It has a trail that goes to the other side of the amphitheater, with a few neat bunny trails. The trails are a little bit overgrown, but absolutely beautiful and with them being overgrown it makes it a little bit of an adventure. It is just a short hike, but worth your time. It is very important that you bring some type of mosquito repellent, the mosquitoes are all over the place and will carry you off to their den to eat you alive!!

So much history located here! Reading information about the construction of Castillo de San Marcos and how the coquina was quarried was very interesting. If you’re coming to St Augustine I recommend visiting Anastasia Star Park and checking out this gem. Tip* If you’re planning to visit St Augustine arrive as early as you can and make multiple stops in your exploration. This is one of those cities that has so much to offer.

Free parking and a real nice short trail going to some original cutting sites for harvesting Coquina (Spanish for "tiny shellfish") blocks. The deposits date back over 100,000 years Very nice informative signs and some rough but passable trails to get into the site. As this is the front part of Anastacia Island state park it is a first stop and than enter the park for more fun.

SIGNS, SIGNS, SIGNS..."200' from this sign there is a quarry....". Really? Where? How about a map, how about path signs or markers? We wandered around for 45 minutes, going up and down a dozen paths that led nowhere. Still never found the "quarry" despite taking directions from some guy sitting at the back entrance road to the ampitheater (yes, we wound up there due to lack...
