Of all the storm treatment areas open for public use this one lacks the most no fishing inside STA allowed only the perimeter canal which is garbage even if you could put your kayak in the STA you might be looking at jail time that isn’t allowed, sadly this is a crap hole everything is overgrown this one needs poison like the FWC poisons our lake . You’d catch bigger bass in the canal across the street that runs thru the many farms which you Yankees continuously blame for producing dirty water and I can see 4’ down crystal clear water . Btw my best there 7 lbs STA 1 west won’t give you a bass that big ever and you will get tired of seeing 10’+ alligators. So much for giving us the tax payers more rights to fish land we pay for...

It’s only problems from a recreational standpoint being a lack a clean bathrooms and most of the wildlife being scared of people. Other than that I’ve probably seen over 80 alligators on my last short visit along with white pelicans, snakes, hawks, osprey, harriers, and tons of wading birds and ducks only on a short bike ride.
