I enjoyed my experience at the amphitheater! I was in the pit for a recent concert. I really appreciated. That security was throwing water pouches to those in the pit who needed it. Really clean facility.
I have withheld one star due to their policy where you may not have a bottle or a can. I understand the eco goal they are going for, but when you are standing in the pit for three hours straight, holding an open top cup becomes a bit of a tedious experience. I don’t think lids were offered, but I could be wrong.
I appreciated the free shuttle service from the adjacent state park. The main parking lot itself was full when I arrived, and I arrived just after the doors opened. Heads up to those who use the service, though, if you are at a very busy concert, you may have a 30 minute wait standing in line to get back to your vehicle via shuttle.
I felt the sound mix could’ve been a little better, especially since I was in the pit and thought it would be most optimized for someone directly in front of the stage. I had difficulty clearly understanding the lyrics consistently.
Overall, this was a pleasant place to see a concert at. I think the open cup experience would’ve bothered me less if I had a seat. I plan to get a seat next time anyway, so I think my concerns about the cups and the mix will go away. Highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great concert experience that isn’t...
Read moreSpent over $200 on Willie Nelson tickets to leave after the second song. Complete waste of money. As soon as he came out 6 people in front of us started smoking pot, two guys next to us were very drunk and started smoking pot and there were young children seated nearby. We got up, told security and he said they chose not to enforce the pot smoking policy last night cause it was too much trouble. We attempted to watch the concert above the seats in the back even though we paid over $200, but the smell and drunks were so bad I got nauseous and were not into getting high. I had a good view and some older white man that had LEADER on his shirt took this woman with a giant cowboy hat and mini skirt and shoved her in front of me and she turned around and they both laughed so I had no interest in staying anymore and just left. The Amphitheatre is pretty, the food trucks were nice, $23 for a drink is ridiculous, and the drug use is a big NO for us. And the lack of ANY attempt to enforce rules or limit the sale of alcohol to people clearly drunk is also a big NO for us. It’s poorly run and didn’t feel safe there.
Not sure what changed cause we saw Billy Idol there last year and although some were drunk it was nowhere near the level as it was yesterday and I have no idea how those people...
Read moreThis was the only concert where my 3 favorite bands (Three Days Grace, Black Veil Brides, Motionless in White) would all be together so when I saw the tickets I HAD to come here. St. Augustine is a beautiful beach and the amphitheatre was nice and clean. I had great visibility from my seat. The only downside I can say is if someone in the crowd is being too wild the volunteers are useless. Multiple people reported a woman behind us that was high as a kite to the volunteers and they wouldn't do anything or get the security guards. This girl was running around barefoot, climbing over seats, hanging on people, lifting her shirt, and fell about 18 times within an hour from trying to stand in the seats and nearly ripped my shirt trying to catch herself. The security guards were all lined up in front of the stage where they couldn't really see her but as soon as the first band finished one of the guards moved to the pit entrance, saw that she had busted her nose and was bleeding, and immediately escorted her out. I'm glad he did something about it because she was ruining the experience for everyone. Thanks to him everyone was able to enjoy the rest of the concert and no one else got too...
